What a joke for service. If you are a regular there, no worries. If you think, “I want to try it”, DON’T! I waited over 30 minutes because their process is to prepare to go orders first. Please note they were not that busy inside either and the people that got there the same time as me received there food timely. While I did receive 10% off, I had to take it to go, and this is what I was presented with, see for yourself. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO BRIARFIELD CAFE EVER, WHAT POOR DECISION MAKEING AND FOOD PRESENTATION!!!!!!!!!!

A great place to stop and eat. It was a bit busy when we arrived. The staff were taking names in order of arrival and clearing/cleaning tables asap. The food was delicious. I would definitely stop again when in area.

Visiting Toledo from Virginia (DC area) and followed the positive reviews to Briarfield Cafe. From the outside looked like many other joints – strip mall, clean. Entering was a great surprise – a crowd (always an excellent sign) and a wonderful mural of Paris – having been there I never expected a Paris Cafe in Toledo. The food lived up to the owners’ goals – excellent. Special shout out to Paula our server. David (owner) please take notice and reward her. At the check out was the obituary of the wife half of the Cafe (sympathies) from three years ago. Glad to see it still going strong (and remembering their roots. Highly recommended. A non-chain jewel in an unexpected setting. GO!

Great and very fast service. The giant cinnamon roll is amazing. Everything is homemade. Sam the manager was awesome made sure we were all happy. Sausage gravy made from scratch as well. Great place to get something to eat on your way to work.

Great place for quality food items at very respectable prices!! Simple “old school “ diner atmosphere, very nice servers!! Very simple but excellent menu /. Choices! We always come back just before dinner hour especially on Friday with “ all you can eat fish etc. “( great morning/ lunch items)

The food is delicious (you need to try the cinnamon bun atleast once) and the service is top knotch. As for the atmosphere, I’d describe the Cafe as quaint and welcoming. 5/5 would recommend.

Briarfield is a reliable place in Maumee for consistently good comfort food. The wait staff is courteous and efficient. The breakfast and lunch menus offer plenty of options, without being overwhelming. I order the home fries, which are actually large chunks of potatoes, fried to perfection–crunchy where the should be and soft on the inside. I, also, like the heavy vinyl covers fitted over the table tops.

I ordered food on 7/4. The omelette was not full and didn’t have the extra items I ordered. I called the restaurant to let them know of the issue. They were polite at the moment & told me they wrote my name down for a credit for a new omelette. 7/7 I called to get the credit. They told me my name was not wrote down but the lady who answered the phone told me she worked that day & still gave it to me. I went to restaurant to pick the order up I did not get greeted all the cashier said was “2.99” as soon as I walked up. Literally no “Hello!” or anything!! I’m thinking like “ok?” So I payed for my food & asked if i could please get syrup. She gave me the syrup but never said have a nice day or anything..but greeted the people behind me with big smiles. Just felt not welcomed!!!

Had a wonderful time with my CCHS class of “73” alumni friends courtesy of the proprietor and fellow classmate, Dave Katafias. And the breakfast fare was delicious. I had the sausage gravy and biscuits, two eggs over easy,(perfectly cooked), and home fries.

Small quaint restaurant. Food was very good, but portion sizes are smaller than before. I had the veggie omelette which was delicious. It was served with a choice of hash browns or home fries and toast. Prices are reasonable. My biggest complaint, is this place always seems to lack adequate staff. We were second on the wait list and still had to wait 15 minutes, even though a dirty table sat vacant. It seemed that the server’s were more interested in handling the curbside orders. It also appeared that no one wanted to assume the responsibility of clearing the table and seating the people waiting. If staffing is such an issue, then the owners should decide on which takes priority. Curbside or dine in. Obviously they can’t handle both. It’s not fair to their employees or the customer’s waiting. Or maybe the owners should be there, just helping out??
