Is an ok place. Portions are generous and staff is friendly and helpful. A bit on the pricey side, but that expected here at canyon Lake Texas. Love the sandwiches, creme corn, beans and the brisket. The coleslaw is a bit disappointing. Overall an ok experience.

Best brisket in Texas! The taste and texture was perfect. Great customer service and the jerky is homemade and never had better.

What delicious brisket, the crust on it mmmm, so tender & juicy, & the turkey amazing! My group loved the chicken, ribs, & beans too!! The sides where good, but not as jazzy as the rest they where just normal, good but not as special as the rest! Plus they had amazing tamales by Holly Tamales too!!!!

We moved to Canyon Lake almost 2 months ago and Bow Hunters is very close to home. We had a full 2 meat plate on our 1st visit a couple of weeks ago and both the turkey & brisket were very good, smokey & tender just how I like it! Today I was cooking at home but needed some potato salad and didn’t have time to make my own, so I decided to run over and buy some right fast. Well, I’m sure glad I did, not only did I get my tator salad but they have awesome homemade cookies & brownies that I couldn’t resist buying a couple of and, it gets better…now I make my own hot salsa at home but I noticed they had a jar next to the brownies and it looked really good! Normally I would not buy hot sauce out because I make my own, and mine is pretty darn good…lol. But the owner and creator of said hot sauce was there and overheard me talking about it, she was super sweet and showed me all the fresh varieties that she had just made, canned and brought to sell. Well I just so happened to be out of my salsa and didn’t really have the time it takes to make more right now so I not only decided to try her red salsa but I left toting 3 different kinds…lol. They are all delicious and I’ll even admit that her red salsa holds its own up against mine, and for me to admit that, is a big deal because I’ve spent many years perfecting my recipe! So go for the awesome BBQ (and jerky) but be sure to grab some homemade desserts and salsa while you’re there!

This is a small family run place that has good to very good bbq. The prices are good and the staff is very friendly. If your going for the ambience this is a very plane jane place if your going for food this is the place to go to grab some lunch or dinner. They are closed on Mondays.

12/17/2021 Having buyer’s remorse. My boneless chicken quarter was dryer than week old, West Texas roadkill. I’m not a quitter, so I chopped it up and smothered it with Sweet Baby Ray’s sauce. I added your onions and crumbled corn muffin into the bland beans while tossing the pickles into the slaw to jazz the tasteless sides. Your sausage link tasted like a grainy hotdog. I did like the “wet” brisket. Only reason we tried you out was because others have raved about your tamales. My bad, because no one mentioned BBQ. Took a shot and dropped the hammer on a dud. Makes me glad I didn’t let you automatically help yourself to a tip.
