Boulton & Watt Review – East Village – New York

Boulton & Watt is a solid neighborhood hang. It’s more of a bar with food than it is a restaurant, but the expansive menu, including weekend brunch, …

I’ve been to NYC twice and have made a point of eating a B&W each time. It is so good! I wish I’d taken a picture of my Moscow Mule for this review. It was beautiful; it didn’t come in a copper mug, but it did come with candied ginger as a garnish. I had fish & chips, my husband had the steak, and on my previous visit I had the burger. Everything on this menu satisfies your hunger and will set your taste buds to dancing with glee.

Came here on a weekend during a World Cup game, and as a result it presumably was much more crowded than it typically would be mid-day. The space is nice and open, with a long high top table separating the bar from seating along the windows facing Houston St. The cocktail list was comprehensive, with several seasonal variations on classics and a few house signatures. Service was a little bogged down with how busy it was during the game, but everyone was nice enough. TV quality was subpar, so not exactly the best place to catch a major event, though that certainly doesn’t seem to be the focus of this gastropub.

Sports bar feeling restaurant with excellent brunch. Enjoyed the avocado toast.

This Bar/Restaurant had one of the best brunches I’ve ever had. Good drinks(check), Great food (check), Nice laid back atmosphere (check). For the drink I got Skyfall (strong enough with lots of flavor). Oatmeal pancake with raspberries were amazing with maple syrup & lemon zest butter. Next up avocado toast with scrambled eggs. Basic yet very flavorful. The final dish was the mac & cheese. Flavor here was on point but I would recommend different pasta shape (shells). Service was also excellent. I would definitely recommend this place & will definitely return. Even my son (picky lil dude) said best brunch ever!! I mean if you can’t trust a 6 year old’s comment on food, can you trust anyone?

Food was great, even the salad. Nice atmosphere inside and out, waitress was friendly and food came out without too long a wait.

Great food and a great location. The staff are nice and the venue has a rustic vibe. The environment has low lighting and loud music. They have outdoor seating and downstairs seating too The portions are decent in size with an average entree costing $15. Eat those chips and guacamole with a smile on your face, because you know you’re in for a good time. Hope this helps!

Such a fun spot to stop for dinner. We came for some drinks and I ordered the fish tacos which were delicious – perfectly fried – and topped with pico and avocado! The impossible burger was also delicious, it came with caramel iced onions which was perfect with the cheddar cheese. The rosemary fries were phenomenal. I highly recommend the cookie for dessert! It’s served a la mode and comes to the table warm in a mini skillet. The horchata and tequila frozen drink was so good for a chillier summer night.

Enjoyed a late Sunday brunch, sitting on the patio watching the world go by. Staff attentive, yet not overbearing. Hubby really enjoyed his ‘Hangover Sandwich’ and I enjoyed the poblano stuffed pepper special. It originally came out heavily garnished with scallions, which I’m allergic to, but they quickly changed it and made sure they again checked all dietary requirements. Delish!
