I feel like I had an odd out of body experience here, not sure how else to describe it. I arrived alone on a Wednesday night at 8:30 just looking for a beer and a burger. The location is different than your usual dining establishment. You have to walk through an iron gate, through a fairy garden type of thing, and up steps. The bottom floor was totally empty. I arrived upstairs to Jose tending bar and Alex cleaning tables. Jose poured me a beer and told me if he forgot about it to just go finish pouring and get it myself. There was one other family of 4 there that didn’t live in the area and, like myself, just stopped in because they were in the area and wanted a burger. Jose is very friendly and talks a lot about random things like aliens. He explained to me to scan the barcode to order but then offered to help. I ordered a 32 oz. beer (nice variety of craft selection) and he put in my food order. I ordered a stuffed burger, medium rare, and it came out very raw and rare. I figured out later when going to pay my virtual check on my phone that it was put into the computer as rare. I sent it back to the kitchen and they fixed it, along with a fresh bun. It was tasty, but nothing to rave about in the burger department. I had corn as my side which was delicious. I think the only reason I would come back here is for the whiskey club. If you like whiskey, this is the place to come.

Jose is absolutely amazing! My partner and I were in town visiting family in the Clairmont Mesa area and wanted to try a local bar. Not only was the drink amazing, Georgia Peach Tea, but it was affordable. We ended up staying much later than intended just having a blast doing karaoke with the other bar patrons. I highly recommend if you’re in the are stopping by. Note that there are dogs there, so take allergy meds if allergic. We didn’t eat, but the food looked amazing.

Can only speak on the food because we ordered delivery. The burgers weren’t too bad until we found a huge black hair in one of them. The Mac and cheese was one of the worst I’ve had and usually it takes a lot for Mac and cheese to be awful for me since it’s one of my favorites. The twice baked mashed potatoes taste extremely grainy, like they took instant mashed potatoes, mixed it with toppings and the twice baked part was baking that for a few minutes. I’m overall, as long as you don’t find a hair, the burgers are okay but I’d stay away from everything else.
