My husband and I are truckers, this was our 2nd time to be in Connecticut for the weekend…wanted to see the beach and have a nice dinner for Father’s day…and this place was AWESOME!!!…from the moment of walking in..to our young waiter…(WHO WAS GREAT AND COMPLETELY ON POINT!!)..to our app, the drinks and the food…EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!! My chicken was incredibly juicy, my husband’s oysters he said we’re EXCELLENT AND OCEAN FRESH!! We’d recommend this place to everyone! We will definitely be back!! Thank you for an awesome Father’s day!!

First time in Connecticut and wanted to try a place that was happening. I drove by this restaurant a few days ago and saw many cars parked around it. Figured the food was good. Boy was I disappointed. The clam chowder was good, the fried oyster sliders were lacking a lot, the garlic parm wings were the same you would get from B-dubs. Worst of all, it took our waitress Julia 10 minutes to acknowledge that we were even seated in her area. She drug her feet to get our drink orders, to bring the food out, to get us refills and to finally get us the check. It has been a while since we have received substandard service from a server. Will not go there again or recommend this place to anyone.

Went there a week ago for the first time and my wife is pregnant she got the lobster Mac and cheese and loved it. So we decided to go back again this weekend and the Mac and cheese was like a bowl of soup it was bland and wasn’t even the same color as the first time. My pregnant wife was so disappointed for $34 I think they should do better.

Stopped here because we were in the area looking for lunch. I was impressed by how clean it was and I really liked the style of the restaurant. The giant pretzel was perfect and the pub cheese it came with was delicious. Enjoyed a burger and the Mac and cheese, and thought the chicken sandwich on a jelly donut was so cool! I’ve never seen that on a menu before and we were really impressed with how well the flavors went together. Food was excellent, service was just okay. We would definitely return though!

My wife and I had a dinner out during our vacation while the kids did their own thing, and it was a really nice place to eat. The food was very good, although maybe we’re a little easily wowed by New England clam chowder in a New England town, lol. My wife thought it was the best she’d had in a long time, and I really enjoyed my burger. The frickles were excellent, too. The food all came out piping hot, and still fteshly cooked. Our server was on the spot every time, very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere of the place is a beach town restaurant, which is what we were looking for, and the final bill was surprisingly lower than what we were expecting.

Service and food were both a let down. Baby niece had a beer spilled on her, lobster rolls are better at the lobster hut, waited over forty min for food that was not worth the wait or price. Lemonade was warm, soda was flat and something in my water. Potatoes were not seasoned and lobster didn’t taste fresh.

Takeout experience wasn’t the best. Food was late to be made, even after My pre-tip. Like, What’s the point? My order was casually called a door dash order to the kitchen, when I ordered straight from the website. I’ve had better experiences being served there.

Very quick service. Food was delicious. Nice size salads, burger was huge and the pretzel was huge as well. We came on a Thursday and they had a guys playing guitar and singing, it added to the lovely atmosphere! I would totally recommend this restaurant in a heartbeat!

This is my first time ever writing a review and I’m sad it’s a poor review about Bonfire. I have always enjoyed my meals here in the past but the last two experiences within the same month has ruined it for me. My family and I came here twice in the month of May to celebrate. The first trip: service wasn’t too bad. Appetizers were good, entrees weren’t. Two burgers were ordered well-done, both came out medium. Okay, maybe it was an off day and wasn’t anything to complain about. Second trip: came right after my college graduation to celebrate. I couldn’t be served a cocktail because they wouldn’t accept my CT issued pistol permit? That is a government issued ID (minimum age of 21 to receive it) and they wouldn’t accept it. Okay, I guess it’s my fault for not having an ID they believe is acceptable. Appetizers were good again, great fried pickles. Meals came out, another disappointment. Because of trip 1, everyone checked their burgers to make sure they were cooked right. One had raw chunks in it. There was no question about it. When it was brought up to the waiters attention, we were told it was going back on the grill because there were bites taken out of it so they will not make a new one (no bites were taken, it was clearly raw as can be, it was visibly cut in half). After informing them that no bites were taken, we were then told a new one was going to be made. That came out more than halfway through everyone’s meal. This second burger was almost fully raw and much worse than the first one. We are never ones to return food or ask for a new one but that was completely unacceptable. We couldn’t believe it. The waiter took it back and was going to still charge us for it. The cod from the fish and chips was some of the worst fish. Lesson learned: Bonfire isn’t the same anymore and has gone downhill sadly.
