First and last time I come here. Cost $23 for 1/4 cup of pulled pork and maybe a 1/2 of a single sausage. See pic, that was $23… Both were average in taste. Def not bad, just not special, and certainly not worth the price. Classic, skimp on the meat and heavy on the sides. I’m not coming back, but I’ll finish this review.

I love Black Hog. I’ve had lunch or dinner here many many times during the past couple of years. I have tried the brisket, pulled pork, ribs, baked beans, and greens. My favorite items are the pulled pork and especially the ribs. Both the dry and wet ribs are delicious, but the wet ones are my go-to because I love the sauce they put on them. They sometimes have pies that are very good, especially the Oreo one!

This place has never let me down with their food. This time, I tried the Meal on a Bun sandwich and I don’t normally enjoy coleslaw but this sandwich changed that completely. It complimented the rest of the sandwich very well. The portions are perfect for either a quick lunch or a relaxing dinner. I also got their Mac and cheese which is super cheesy and cooked right. The strawberry lemonade is delicious with bits of strawberries adding satisfying texture to the drink.

No idea why this place has some poor reviews. I was skeptical after reading some of them, but this place is awesome. The pulled pork was excellent, the brisket was juicy (rare to find in NoVa) and the service was great. It’s super clean, sauce selection was great and the prices were more than reasonable for the portions.

We just had a BBQ luncheon with Black Hog for our office and everyone loved it! Usually, two or three of the foods are great and the others a bit bland, but everything we ordered was fantastic. We ordered three meats all cooked to perfection with the presentation exceeding our expectations for an outdoor buffet. The sweet potato casserole was delicious and the greens had just enough heat to make you want more, with the perfect mac-n-cheese and moist cornbread! Their homemade sauces kicked the meal out of the park. Everything was wonderful except a couch to take a quick nap after such a wonderful buffet luncheon. We will be back!!!!!! Potomac Energy loves Black Hog!!!!!!
