In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am – we’ve got something for everyone. My first time ever to try this restaurant and I was not disappointed. Miss Ebony was our waitress and was phenomenal! Service with a smile and prompt attention to her customers. She had several tables to attend and didn’t miss a beat all while maintaining a smile. The cinnamon roll French toast and blackberry stuffed French toast are amazing!!

Delicious waffles and breakfast options, with an amazing interior ambiance and great service. The options are pretty typical of a breakfast diner, but their specials are unique and good and it has a cozy feel to it. The waits are never too bad somehow, and it’s a great place to grab a morning meal.

This was my first time eating at Black Bear Diner and it was awesome! The food was amazing and very delicious. I haven’t had breakfast this good in a long time. Our waitress was Ebony and she was also amazing. She gave us good recommendations and was very friendly. It was also her birthday so shoutout to Ebony! Happy Birthday! I will definitely be retuning!

This was our first time at this Diner. When we pulled up there was a line so we asked about how long of a wait and since it was just my wife and I we were seated at the bar immediately. Our server, Miss Karol, come up and got us our drinks quickly. For as busy as they were, the staff was doing great. We got our food quickly and it was so delicious. Amber and Brittany, I believe, were the supervisors on hand and they were hands on helping out. They were grabbing and calling out orders, ensuring food was made properly and congratulating workers on keeping up with the amount of orders coming in and going out. Miss Karol was great, kept my drink full and checked on us even with being so busy. It was a great breakfast, great experience, we will be back and highly recommend those that have never tried this Dinner to come out and get full. You will not be disappointed.

Most amazing pancakes!!!! Pity they won’t let you substitute eggs, and they’re in practically everything. My husband won’t eat them. I would definitely come back for the good service, prices, and food. Aeriona took especially good care of us.
