I must say, I come here every Thursday or I should say once every other week and so far this is by far my best experience yet. I have never done a review because none was worth doing. The food was always basic and the chef never interacted with us UNTIL TODAY. TODAY, WAS MY BEST EXPERIENCE HERE. My chef goes by the name Eli, the food was extremely tasty and he had our attention through and through. This was my mom’s first time herr and he made her experience amazing to the point she says to me, I want to come here for my birthday so he can cook for me again and with disappointment I said to her we can’t request him, we just got lucky today. He had the table filled with life and had us engaged every step of the way. He educated us on the sauces which no one has ever done and was very polite and professional. His attitude and demeanor filled the atmosphere and made eating here a pleasure. I hope this won’t be my last meal here. They need more chefs like Eli.

Our chef was Otto, he is the best, very friendly and polite. His tricks were amazing. My kids love them, and the food delicious. Windy was our waitress very nice and lovely. Both make us feel welcome. Definitely we are coming back.

Went for Mother’s Day and it was a cool experience. The chief was late, there was a table that sat after us and was served before us. The rice and noodles are served first but while you wait for the meat/seafood they get cold. The drinks were more sweet than strong. Andrew was our waiter and he was busy, but still helped us! The salad and soup was good! But you can tell the salad came from a package and not freshly cut from the actual veggies. I wish it was more entertaining but overall cool.

My first time at Benihanas ever. Now im aware of the popularity, I’ve been to a single hibachi style restaurant in the past in City Island and honestly I’d pick City Island. It was 2 of us on my birthday and they sat us with a group of 6 (5 children and one adult, all girls) who also had 2 birthdays. Food was great though it was very cold in the restaurant. The table grills were packed somewhat tight and the place was nearly packed. Arrived at 630p and had to wait about 20mins for a table. My biggest and only issue was with our drink order. Didn’t recieve them until after everyone’s food was done. No water was offered (I’ve become accustomed to not asking for it) and the manager wasn’t really trying to offer an explanation (wasn’t looking to get the drinks free but some kind of discount would’ve been nice). I hear the location in New York city is way better. Overall my first time at benihanas was good but im over it and I won’t be returning.

It went downhill after the pandemic and unfortunately has not recovered. Server was very great. . The one order we got was good. Very tasty . drinks took a long time… But it was very well made. Food never came even An hour later… ordered three things. In a mostly empty bar area. Then no one knew if or when happy hour was even though we called ahead and was told there was happy hour and was given happy menus and told to sit in the happy hour area by the hostess. it’s so bad. Also place smells funny, like dirty rags.

Based on our experience today, I wish I could rate this place zero star and I would never come back again. If you are reading this, please read until the end.

It’s a great restaurant from day one but I think that there are things staring in the way of the excellent service that they used to provide. The wait staff were all very polite and called to confirm our reservation. The down side was our chef did the show but the energy was not there. He was kinda monotone and barely audible. No smiles and extra oumph! The food he cooked was good so I can’t complain there! We wanted to get out picture but they didn’t have it, they were out of chef hat kids menus so they gave photocopies without the activities for the kids, the table where we were seated was not as clean I like it, with food splotches on it and when I asked the server, she said that it’s not her job to clean it. At the end we wanted pics with the birthday girl and they didn’t clear the table first. She again said that it’s not her job but she did clear off and wiped down the place in front of the bday girl so we could place the cake and sing. So it’s just under the excellent service that I am used it at Benihana. The video shows the lackluster attempt at the beating rice heart…

Pretty over priced considering the quality and portion of the food. You’re mainly paying for the performance but during my visit, it seemed that my chef was rushing through the routine compared to what I saw happening at other tables.
