Just stopped in for cocktails in the afternoon. Amazing wood work all over the restaurant. Shannon was a pleasure to speak with, her service was top notch. We look forward to making reservations and coming back with friends for dinner one evening. They also have a wine club which I think my mom will absolutely enjoy! Highly suggest you stop in and check it out yourself. Drinks are cold, cant wait to come back and try the food!

A group of 9 of us had reservations at 5:30pm on a recent Friday evening. What happened next was beyond belief. The short version is they were out of ginger ale, vegetables, mussels, a wine list, and a few other things I can’t remember. Despite there being only one or two other people in the place, 6 of us didn’t get out food for 2.5 hours. The other 3, who ordered perch, didn’t get their food for another 30 minutes later. And they got walleye, which they tried to tell us was perch. Even harder to comprehend than the 3 hour wait for food was the fact that 8 or 9 of us didn’t receive what we ordered- mashed instead of baked potato, mashed potato instead of wild rice, walleye instead of perch, scallops on pasta instead of rice, butter instead of cheese dipping sauce for a pretzel (which arrived burned black), a steak well done instead of medium, and on and on. Perhaps some of this could have been explained had they been extremely busy but there were only a few people in the place the entire time!

Shannon the bartender was entertaining and very hospitable. She makes a great old fashion and smokes them too!! Our dinner was delicious. The menu has lots of gluten free options and they are willing to substitute food to make everything gluten free.

This neat and cozy place make you feel at home! We had a great dinner , the burger and the fried cod were delicious, but the dessert makes it a nice final dinner touch! Plus the manager and their waitress are nice! Nice drinks as well! Also, we saw this beautiful piano and we were told that on Saturday or some Fridays there may be a live pianist! Come and don’t miss this neat place! P.S .now they will be open for lunch!

I have mix feeling about this restaurant. The building has a nice history but it seems like the current owner is struggling to maintaining it. We also learned that the current staff has been on strike. Therefore, the reserve and part time staff were helping out. The chef and owner were in the kitchen. We stayed and had dinner The fried perch was good but we suspect they weren’t lake perch based on their large sizes. They could have been walleye fish. The scallops were cooked perfectly but they didn’t have any taste. The cream sauce on top was cold. Given the circumstances, we came to this restaurant when they are having a bad day?

Shannon, the manager/bartender was so nice. We had some cheese curds and bacon wrapped water chestnuts, a couple of drinks. Enjoyed the decor. Old bar metal ceiling and unique barstools. We are going back for prime rib today.

Waited a bit for a table (only 3 other tables of 2 we’re occupied), orders drinks, no Coors light and the tap beer they suggested was out. 3 of maybe 8 appetizers were not available, and they were out of potato pancakes. Baked cod was over cooked and over peppered! Baked potato’s were undercooked.
