The food at this restaurant is fantastic. But today was really bad. I bought a salmon and threw it all in the garbage, it was in pure pepper, I think they dropped the whole bottle of pepper on top of the salmon and the worst thing was that my daughters and I got hungry.

Sunday May 20, 2023. Order placed with a pickup time of 9:35 p.m. I got my food at 10:05 p.m. I chose curbside service which I did not get. After sitting at their Curbside-To-Go, for about 7 minutes, I went in to check on my order. As I was going to the bar somebody came out of the kitchen and asked if I needed help. I told him I was waiting on my order. The gentleman went back into the kitchen and instead of coming out and telling me my order wasn’t ready. I waited another 10 minutes inside waiting for that gentleman to come back. One other employee came out from the back and asked me if I had been helped. That was my only positive experience. I got the two for $25, one for tonight and the other for the next day. The meal that I ate the same night was okay: chicken tenders and fries. My observation while sitting in my car was not favorable. One lady at the curbside to go door was smoking and scrolling through her phone. They should have a designated area to do that. Another lady came out eating something, started talking to the first lady and then walked to a parked car. She continued her conversation with the lady by the door using profanity in front of waiting customers. If you are in a customer serving business then act like you’re in a customer service business. I do quite a bit of takeout with curbside delivery. However, I do not leave a tip in the app when I place my order. I give the tip to the person who brings my meal to the car and it’s based on their attitude. My tip for good service is $5 or 20%, whichever is greater, but not until I get my food. My experience last night, no tip was given. This was my first and last time at the West Wendover Avenue Applebee’s.

I visited this location yesterday with two guests. I thought that I was going to have a positive experience but did not. For starters, the waitress did not give her name. I asked and she said Yasmin or Yasmine. It’s important to know who my server is to establish rapport versus just asking what I want to drink. Next, I ordered the blackened salmon with broccoli and substituted the garlic mashed potatoes for a salad which was an up charge. I don’t like garlic and I cannot have carbs. My guests ordered some roast beef sandwiches with au jus sauce. In the meantime (trying to knock the cold off), we ordered the sampler that came with wings, spinach and artichoke dip, mozzarella sticks and quesadillas. That was not enough for 3 people to share. Next, we waited forever for our food. Shortly afterwards the waitress comes out to ask me if I wanted my salad now or later with my entree and said the order was ready. I said to bring it now because I was hungry. For future reference, if a customer asks for a substitute it should have been part of my meal. The broccoli was warm. The salad was nasty and I couldn’t eat it. I love salads and wondered how one can mess it up. My guests received cold fries and cold au jus sauce. We let our waitress know whose only reply was “I’ll get you some hot fries.” They should have been hot when the food was delivered initially. The appearance of the fries were not glistening and someone should have never brought them out. Never serve customers something you wouldn’t eat yourself. There was not an apology. Customer service people! I’m inclined to believe that our food had been ready for some time. This was not worth $80. My guests ordered some alcoholic drinks too. I’m very upset. We could have gone anywhere but CHOSE to eat here.

Arrived with a toddler and infant. Was given a booster seat for the infant when asked for highchair. Asked a second time for highchair and was given one. When ordering food from the kid’s menu, we were told they were out of milk, so we asked about juices and were told they only had starry and lemonades. Ordered a steak rare that came out medium well, a kid’s chicken Alfredo that had no sauce, a kid’s pizza that was microwaved and soggy, and the all you can eat wings. It took almost 45 mins to get the food, and the place had maybe 15 other tables. They brought all the food at once except for the kids’ pasta. We were told it would be another 5-7 mins. Thankfully, it was only about 3. The wings were supposed to be garlic parm, but it just looked and tasted like they were doused in oil and butter with half the breading falling off. Only drinks refilled were water, others were ignored. Had to stop our waitress to place order for more wings, and the flavor was disgusting. While eating, I found an eyebrow hair on my plate. I figured it was my boyfriend’s since I had him try the wings. When putting stuff in my Togo box, I found 2 more under my fries. At this point we were done.

The bartender was great! However whoever was cooking on Monday night 8/28/23 was horrible and needs a refresher on the menu items and what dishes come with what because my friends burger was missing the bacon that was requested and my pecan blonde (Togo) was missing the icing. Simple attention to detail is a requirement when preparing meals that people pay their hard earned money for!! This location needs an serious intervention and revamping. I would never recommend this location. What a disappointment….Applebees please do better or give it up…smh

The food was OK. The ribs were cooked well and very soft. The chips and dip were mediocre I’d say. I really only came to have the ice cream blondie which is apparently made with apples now instead of with the warmed butter pecan. I’m not a fan of baked apples so I may be biased. My waiter didn’t come around much but the rest of the staff made up for their lack of attentiveness, they were very accommodating!

If I could put zero stars and leave a review I would. I waited 2 hours for my food and when my food was bought to the table my fries were ice cold. I treated my whole family of 5 to dinner and paid 63 dollars for all the food to go in the trash. My wife now has food poisoning and there was only one good waiter. Although this restaurant is under staff the management should be able to pull together with who they have to make the experience the best possible. I will NEVERRRRRRR go back !!!!!!!!!!

I don’t know how many chances you should give a restaurant? I have gone to Applebees a few times over the years. I travel for work so I try to find good food. Who is in the middle of a storm in North Carolina so I stopped at Applebee’s hoping to get some good food and work on my computer

Every time I’ve ordered curbside service Ive always had to wait almost 30 mins for my food after arriving at the set time. I always have to call to tell them I’m here and now have to check my bag cause after excessive waiting n cold food I realize they’re always missing something. This is my last time coming here. With so many better quality places around u would think they would want to so better.
