We have always passed by this place and finally decided to try it out. It was ok….. nothing great to say about the food or service or ambiance. It was just kind of there for Italian/Japanese infusion. We ordered the garden salad and mozzarella sticks for appetizers, both ok but nothing special. For entrees, we ordered the chicken and mushroom pasta in a cream sauce, flavor ok, but chicken was tough. We also ordered seafood Wasabi butter garlic sauce, sounded delicious, and well it looked good, it was just very underwhelming. I mean the flavor was buttery, which was ok, but I really didn’t taste any hint of Wasabi or even garlic. Pasta was cooked adente was the best thing of both pasta dishes.

Located on 12th Avenue, in the same location as the former Victoria Inn (Kokohead Cafe). World famous dressings and Japanese-Italian cuisine. Best sure to try their raw potato salad with a sampler of all of their popular dressings (original, miso, lemon, ginger). Truly amazing flavor and texture.

5/4/2022 First, let me say I’ve always been a big fan of Angelo Pietro’s! I’ve been eating here since they were next door to McKinley Car Wash, then moved farther down Kapiolani and next door to Shokudo, and now their Kaimuki location. I vaguely remember that they were also on Kapahulu at some time. Anyway, this location shares a parking lot with other businesses and restaurants and parking is easy to find. Through the years, their service has been consistently friendly and courteous and the food is fabulous! I’ve had countless lunches, (both dine in and take out), dinners, (both dine in and takeout), and celebrations here and I’ve never been disappointed. My usual is the Raw Potato Salad along with either the pasta with shoyu sauce, spinach and mushroom, or the pasta with shoyu sauce, mushroom and bacon, or the Mixed Mushroom Doria. Between those three entrees, I’ve eaten the Mixed Mushroom Doria the most and I love it! I’m so glad that throughout the years, I can always rely on Angelo Pietro for a wonderful dining experience. The consistent taste and presentation of the items that we’ve ordered through the years is also very much appreciated. This time, I met my pal for lunch. We’ve eaten at Angelo Pietro’s many times together and we both wish that they would bring back the ume dressing. There’s no other dressing like it! She either gets the same pastas as I do, and adds asparagus, or her regular is the Clam Peperoncini. For dessert, we miss the Haupialani sorbet that we used to order, topped with chocolate sauce but we found we love the Tiramisu. Today, I deviated from ordering the Mixed Mushroom Doria and ordered the special of the day, Eggplant Penne Arrabiata. It was yummy with lots of bacon and the eggplant was cooked perfectly, not too soft and not too firm. She had her Clam Peperoncini. We also shared the Raw Potato Salad and Tiramisu for dessert. Awesome & awesome! Our server was super nice and checked on us often. My friend was able to use her stamp card that they accepted. I’ll keep coming back again and again because I love Pietro’s and my pal does too!

Went on Easter Sunday, wasn’t busy at all. Made reservations and got to sit down immediately . Food was amazing and delicious . Service was fast and friendly too. The only thing I would say that I didn’t like, was the fruit punch… it had no flavor, wouldn’t recommend. But everything else a 10!!! Like Terminator said I’ll be back

Great Japanese style pasta. Service is friendly and quick. Rainbow salad with lemon dressing was a perfect light appetizer between 7 of us. Calamari fritters was breaded great and not greasy. Portions are large and the bread is great for leftover sauces. Uni pasta is strong, pork and erngyii is varied with spice, Seafood Pietro style had plenty of scallop, octopus, fish roe, squid, shrimp, tarako and ika was a table favorite with an incredible amount of ika that was very tender. Would come again

Entrees there are ok. Light in flavors. The only items that have any flavor are their salad dressings. Atmosphere is casual. Kid friendly. Place has a large paid parking lot near many other restaurants.

I am happy Angelo Pietro relocated to Kaimuki. I’ve always enjoyed their version of Japanese-Italian pastas entrées. As of last year, the portions are larger, satisfying, even for the hardy diner. The Staff are always accommodating & friendly, I believe some have been with the restaurant from the Kapiolani days… just a nice family restaurant!

Food was very good for Japanese Italian. If you ever ate at Happy Valley Pizza on Monserrat many years ago, food is very similar. Pasta came out al dente and freshly made. Carbonara sauce was very good and had broccoli, mushrooms and asparagus mixed in Japanese style. Food came out quickly. Atmosphere is ok and the place is fairly small. Very quiet which is nice so you can talk without having to yell. Staff very friendly and attentive. Prices are typical for Hawaii. Will definitely go again.

So glad we have an Angelo Pietro again! We used to go to the one by Ala Moana years ago and then it closed. We called ahead to reserve a table so we didn’t have to wait and had the last table. We ordered and didn’t have to wait very long for our entrees to come. I had the Seafood Peperocini Wasabi Sauce which was super yummy. While it doesn’t look like a large serving, it was filling.

Homey Italian restaurant by way of Fukuoka, Japan. Serves a surprising mix of Japanese and Italian cuisine, or probably a better description would be Italian food with a Japanese touch. Food was delicious and flavorful, and the service top-notch. Prices are reasonable, too. Definitely worth another visit.
