A stop at American Falafel did not disappoint. While our food was being prepared we enjoyed complimentary hot mint tea, which was a pleasant way to start the meal. We shared an order of falafel bites with tahini sauce and an order of fries with the chicken kabob sandwich and falafel wrap. The restaurant is small and decor is basic, but the food is delicious, but I miss the halloumi sandwich!

Wasn’t the best, food was cramped all in black disposable bowl unlike the picture on the screen. Waited a while until the worker noticed me. (He was behind the building when I parked my car next to it)

Had to get food on the way to the airport and I was very glad I stopped here.

Friendly service with complimentary mint tea when you order. The falafel gets the job done but it’s not life changing. The fries were seasoned well but could have been cooked a bit longer as the bigger ones were still soggy in the middle. Maybe I should have gotten a kebob. They looked really good on the grill.

The food is cool. I asked for extra pickles and olives with my meal, but believe I got the regular serving. The service could have been better. Beware of the young lady at the front counter; she cheats people out of their change if they pay in cash. I feel that the service was more personable when this restaurant first opened (which is why I come back when I visit home/St. Louis). However, not getting the accurate amount of change this time has left a bitter taste in my mouth. Make sure you look out for *that* if you decide to patronize them. I gave a 3 star rating for atmosphere, because there was a spider web and spider on my table, a dead bug near my table, dirt on my chair and the table next to mine was dirty.

If you are looking for a friendly, comfortable, delicious, clean place to eat, sit, work, and/or relax, American Falafel checks all of the boxes. The hospitality is unmatched and is consistent with every visit. The quality and authenticity of the food is equally consistent— complex in flavor, extremely reasonably-priced, and the portion sizes are generous and filling. There are a variety of dishes and options to choose from, ranging from dips/spreads (great to share OR get them to-go and bring to a party), shawarma wraps, and full-plate “skillet”-type meals, which makes it an accessible dining experience based on how hungry you are, your food-mood, or how much time that you have, though the food comes out quickly (without compromising quality or presentation) every time. Though one can get dishes such as falafels and hummus many places around town, the intentionality and flavors behind Chef Feras’s authentic Jordanian street-food approach really sets American Falafel apart. The falafels themselves are the most flavorful that I’ve tried *anywhere*, and each falafel “bite” is about the size of a lemon (you can get 5 for $6 which could suffice as a meal by itself!) New to food from this part of the world? Ask for a recommendation – they’re so happy to help. Even if you just stop in to relax or say hello, owner Mohammed is always quick with warm greetings and a cup of seriously unmatchable hot Jordanian Bedouin tea with fresh mint. PS – there’s wifi, outdoor seating, and they’re pup-friendly. don’t wait!

Ordered the falafel wrap as a pickup order for lunch and it DID NOT disappoint. It was filled to the brim with delicious and fresh tasting ingredients and the falafel was on point. I usually go to The Vine because I can walk there from my house. But, I’ll be making the trip to U City for more falafel again soon because it’s that good! Definitely recommend.

Good menu selection with several wraps (which they call a warm bread roll) and salads, hummus, falafel etc. Everything was fresh and presented well. The COVID-19 is still in effect, and they did a good job of packaging the order for take out. A very positive first experience.

Surprisingly, my favorite things American has to offer is their hummus and baba ganoush. Both are super flavorful and I would order quarts of the stuff if I could!

Tasty, scratch-made food, simple menu, fast and friendly service by owner-chef. The mint tea while we were ordering added a touch of Mediterranean hospitality
