They created a curated menu for the large party of people. We had about 20 people. The food was delicious, a great adventure in the Balkan cuisine. Would go back to try other dishes they offer.

Pecs was our waiter and he was so fun to talk to, and he curated a wonderful dining experience. The food was amazing! My favorite is the slow cooked cabbage, the spreads and bread, lamb lasagna, gnocchi, Balkan Sausages, Chicken strings off, garlic mussels, and pork neck. This was my 2nd time at an Ambar restaurant (1st time was at Ambar-Shaw) and it did not disappoint. I’d recommend trying every dish on their menu at least once for the tasting experience. We also chatted with Sean, but basically all staff were so friendly and would check on you often.

We went for brunch and it was well worth the price. $55 for all you can eat and all you can drink mimosas is pretty unbeatable in DC.

We visited for their brunch at the recommendation of Eater. Bottomless mimosas and a new type of food sounded very appealing. $34 per adult for unlimited food and $15 for unlimited drinks. The mimosas were watered down. I had four and not even tipsy. The food was okay but didn’t wow. Dishes included a plate of scrambled eggs that looked very unappetizing, three pieces of bacon, bread with dips, hamburger sliders (we had asked for no beef and still got beef), a sandwich with fried cheese, a tiny piece of steak (beef again) and a small cold waffle with whipped cream, two strawberry slices and chocolate. Aside from not honoring our one request, the service was very good. The space is beautiful. I am curious if we had ordered dinner here would we have gotten a better sense of Balkan food?

This is a 3-story, eastern european restaurant serving unlimited tapas in Washington DC. During my time in DC, I did chef tastings at numerous restaurants so I got to sample quite a bit of cuisine. By far, Ambar provided the best atmosphere, the highest quality food, and the most flavorful and colorful dishes all at an extremely reasonable price. Here you pay one price but can order as much as you would like off the menu. Dishes are served tapas style as small dishes. Everything was perfect! All the meats and fish were tender and seasoned well, the salads had excellent crunchy texture with a vinegary dressings. The hummus platter was so delicious with a very earthy taste. The short rib goulash was DIVINE! The sesame salmon was super flavorful. Every dish was a winner here!

We chose The Amber Experience and the food was exceptional. Truly, every plate we ordered was perfect. Our favorites were the goulash, tzatziki, and steak tartare.

Had a wonderful time here – our waiter made this one of the best dinner experiences here. The menu has an unlimited tapas and unlimited drinks option. Service is very fast and the food was so good. I especially liked the fried chicken, short ribs and trout.

Let me start by saying the food was very tasty! I know I’m a bit harsh in my rating, but overall it’s based on the overall experience, venue ambiance, service, food presentation, vs. What you pay. It is a very good deal with a great selection, but that should not mean you should sacrifice the other elements of a great dining experience. It was all-you-can-eat tapas, but we could not get our server to come take our order. When the food did come, it was not always hot. The person carrying the food up to the second level tripped twice and caught the food, but the presentation was ruined, hence lack of photos. Again, this may be harsh, but the food was in fact, delicious, and we will return. Every establishment has a bad night, and we feel they are worth a second chance.

I was so excited to eat here on my DC trip – and it didn’t disappoint! The small plates were the perfect size to try every dish you could possibly fit into your stomach. The Balkan salad and the Stuffed Pepper were two of my favorites. Uroš and Roberto provided wonderful service. Will definitely be recommending to others in the DC area!
