The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great! The guy who was our server was funny, and ensured we got everything we needed. This was my first time here and will be returning. My friend talked up their fried okra, but they ran out. I will have to make sure to go back and try them when they have it. If you’ve never been, and enjoy Indian food…this is the place for you!

Food was awesome. Definitely recommend chicken samosa. Butter chicken was also a great option.

Had a bad experience the first time – went to dine in an hour before closing time. Asked for a table but was made to sit at the bar. Placed my order. No one offered water or anything else. My food came all packed for a take away. I informed them I was visiting Rochester and my hotel room didn’t have any cutlery or the right space to dine and so I was planning on eating at the restaurant but was asked to leave since they had already packed it. When I requested for a spoon n a fork, they reluctantly gave me some. They weren’t able to print me a receipt and wanted me to provide phone / email if I wanted an electronic copy.

Let’s start by saying the food was outstanding. Service on the other hand needs an overhaul. There were only 3 tables occupied so they weren’t busy. We started by receiving 3 individual bottles of water but no glasses. 10-15 minutes later we had to summon the waitress to take our drink order. She got the owner who was seated in a booth next to us talking to a woman. They didn’t have any Indian beer that day he said. After he got our drinks he took our order. We ordered 2 small plates as appetizers and 3 meals, 2 of which were the same Karachi with different spice levels. Our dinners came before the appetizers and one of the Karahi was Korma not what we ordered. I asked about the small plates not coming out 1st and she said they’ll be out shortly. She brought out the other Karahi dish but it looked nothing like the other correct one. It looked like they just added onions and peppers to the Korma dish. We didn’t want to wait for another dish so my son just ate it. No one came to the table to check on us during the meal but the owner stopped as we were leaving and asked how things were and we just replied the food was great. The whole experience was just plain weird. It’s a shame as the food is exceptional. They need an experienced wait staff or train the young lady. The owner needs to be more aware of what is going on.

We ordered takeout as a special treat to celebrate a raise I received. It was the worst Indian food I’ve ever had. The naan was bland and rubbery, I paid 20 dollars for 8 cubes of poorly marinated basically plain paneer and my boyfriends chicken curry was awful and rubbery. It made me quite sad honestly. Would not recommend

My wife and I both had the samosas as appetizer and they were superb for main dish my wife got the lamb korma and myself the chicken biryani both were amazing. We especially loved the Raita that came with the biryani! Overall I would give Amaya a 9/10 and the only reason not 10 because the time we went it was busy and the service could have been faster.

Service is beyond HORRIBLE! We were seated and then forgotten for more than 10 minutes. When we went up to the bar and asked for a waiter, they still ignored us. The restaurant was not busy. There were two tables that were already done eating and our table of three. IN THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT!

We ordered via Uber eats and the food was terrible. I would advise not to order momos from here. We could just take a bite and had to throw away the rest. The stuffed material was like flour that would spill around instead of holding together and without the right ingredient.

This restaurant is THE gem of Indian cuisine in Rochester. My wife and I have been dining here frequently for the past year and there is just no competition for this place. It was recommended to us by several respected members of the Indian community and it has surpassed our expectations every time. The service is attentive and caring. If you have any question or issue with any menu item, just ask for Ramnish. He will ensure you have an wonderful experience. We’ve ordered half the items on the menu and the quality and consistency of the food never disappoint. The samosas and momo are delicious and perfectly executed. Their baby lamb chops are the best we’ve ever had. The chicken Daab is exquisite and the salmon tandoori is so good it should probably be ilegal! The curried goat was lovely and pretty much anything you get from their tandoori section of the menu is divine. Someone said there was an issue with the billing on the POS, but when I asked Ramnish, he said he was aware and showed me the new POS system they just started using precisely to remedy this complaint. Best Indian cuisine in Rochester. Wonderful service and attention to detail from a family owned and operated gem.

One of the best place to have authentic Indian food. Love the Ambience of the place. The food is amazing here. You have a lot of options available and they do prepare the dishes according to your taste. The meal is served hot and fresh. I opted for a non vegetarian thali which was tummy filling. It was heavenly. Loved the crispy hot naan. Probably one of the best naans I have ever had. The chicken was good too. The service is pretty good and it’s easy to locate.
