We came to Acadiana Cafe because a friend of ours wanted to eat Cajun Food. So we decided on Acadiana because of the ratings. We had chicken tenders and stuffed potatoes, Cajun white fish with green beans and stuff potatoes, and shrimp Etuffe with an alligator appetizer. The alligator was great but not the gravy so much. Order the biscuits. The biscuts were flat but good. Don’t order the corn bread. The corn bread looked like corn bread but tasteless. The fish and chicken tenders were bland. I expected a Cajun spice, but nothing. The most spicy Cajun spice was the Cajun hot sauce on the table. The food was good, but I was disappointed. For this, we could have gone to Cracker Barrel. Again, I found the food good but bland for a restaurant claiming to be cajun. I pass on Acadiana and try somewhere else next time.

I was part of the Red Hats this past Saturday and I am excited to share my experience at this wonderful place to eat! The greeter was very enthusiastic about escorting us to the party room. Our server was Elizabeth and she was amazing! Elizabeth made sure that we had our orders correctly and had a very good attitude. The food was fresh and very delicious when served. The coffee was fresh made as well. The place is designed in the WWII retro decor. All the employees were helpful. The place was very clean on the inside and the outside was well taken care of. I will definitely return.

Tried Acadiana as someone referred it to me. The food was good but tasted pretty bland. Even the sweet tea needed more sugar. Not as Cajun as I had anticipated. Service was good but not spectacular. Waitress asked us if we had butter on our table, then came back to see if we had ketchup on the table. Instead of just checking herself or replenishing? Atmosphere was friendly and inviting. Not too many people. Building and decor was interesting and historical. Overall rating about a 3 star.

I had the sampler platter and fired pickles and it was all delicious. The hush puppies were the best I’ve had in years. The service and atmosphere was great and the staff were extremely polite and professional. Great prices as well. Will definitely come again!

I’ve been going to this place for many years. It always has consistently good food and has not changed their menu very much over the years. In my opinion, the two best items served here are the fried fish and the fried chicken livers. The fried fish comes in two varieties, one being catfish the other whitefish, and both are delicious. They also have chicken and dumplings as an option for a side which is nice. I wish they had more locations in San Antonio but for the time being, I will continue to go here.

Amazing!!!! Ate here 2 out of 3 days of vacation and so wished it would have been 3/3. Can’t say enough good things. From the service, atmosphere, taste, portion size, all 5****. Don’t hesitate to stop by for the best meal you will have anywhere around San Antonio. It was so good I actually asked the waitress if they would consider shipping some of their menu selections thru one of the online foodie places. American, country, down home, touch of Cajun flair, best part is they understand that Cajun is flavor and not just heat. Have a trip planned for March and will be by there 2 or 3 times then. Highly recommend. You will be made to feel like family from the moment you walk in.

Had the fried seafood combo (white fish and butterfly shrimp) and everything was excellent. The margaritas were pretty good too and our waiter was very friendly.

Love this place. Been coming here since the ’90s. Great fried pork chops and chicken and dumplings. Eat your cornbread with plenty of butter and honey. They have an excellent wait staff and hostess. Always welcoming and friendly. There was a New Orleans-style band playing the night we went. It was such a fun and energetic atmosphere we stayed an hour longer than we meant to enjoying the music. I will continue to return to this beloved restaurant.

I’ve never written a Google review before and this restaurant changed that. I had the seafood gumbo and fried alligator strips, and my word it made me feel very satisfied. Everything was great.

Food was delicious! Saw this place on tv, decided to finally try it. Our waiter, Mark was so courteous and was able to answer all my questions about the menu! We had the fried pickles, chicken/sausage gumbo with cornbread, 2 piece catfish, fried fish/shrimp combo, with tea all for $35!! We will definitely be back!
