The Seabass on mashed potatoes was delicious. Really nice and quiet. Everything we ordered was good. Staff was all polite especially our waitress Somerlin. (Don’t recall the spelling sorry Somerlin) sat at a nice table by the windows.

Just went to 1861 for our wedding Anniversary and it was an incredible experience! Yes this restaurant is in a living facility however it is clearly stated that it’s in this facility. We started at the Bees Knees bistro for a couple of cocktails and Kelly was definitely the Bees Knees. She answered all of our questions and was a pleasure to speak with. All of the staff that came into the bar area to retrieve drinks were very friendly. All were professional and polite. Answered any question my husband and I asked. We then went into 1861 for dinner. It is small plates we ordered the white crab bisque to start. We shared this and so glad we did it was very rich but so delicious. We then shared the 1861 Chronicle menu (the testing menu). Please keep in mind this menu changes daily. Tonight we enjoyed grilled pita with garlic hummus, butter nut squash soup, endive salad, beef short rib, scallops and for dessert it was a piece of opera cake. As it was our anniversary we also received macrons to take home. Our waitress was Teashla she was impeccable. Polite, professional and very courteous. We met Ken the head chef my comment to him was “why drive to Las Vegas for fine dining when we are lucky enough to have 1861”. We will definitely be returning. Thank you to all of the staff at 1861 for a wonderful meal and great experience. If you like good food go. The ambiance of 1861 is definitely NOT assisted living ambiance. If that is your biggest hang up about going here just go and don’t think about it. The food was delicious, flavorful and so worth every penny. Thank you 1861 it was great!

Unique restaurant experience for St. George, Utah! Would be a fun experience for a date or couples night. Brand new venue. We had a large party of 11, all our first time there. We were pleasantly surprised by how accommodating the host (Matt) and our waiter(Justin) were. They were awesome. Justin was amazing with our group and definitely had his hands full!

Everything we tried did not disappoint! We started off with the pita bread & hummus, that didn’t last long enough haha. Then the wedge salad, very light and full of flavor. My husband went with the New York Strip I believe, he really enjoyed and was cooked just how he likes it. I went with the Wagyu, the cauliflower purée was sooo good. The Wagyu itself was a bit over cooked for my liking but did not disappoint.

Way overpriced. Food is plated like a fancy restaurant, but not cooked right. The venison was way over cooked, we couldn’t even eat it so we took it home and fed it to our dog. The turkey bolognese was too salty. The burnt ends weren’t good either. On the bright side the mushroom caprese and the service were really good. Overall it was a weird experience because it’s located inside of a retirement community, we weren’t sure we were even at the right place. Additionally they bring the food from the direction of the buffet in the retirement community, so it’s pretty suspect that Chef Ken is actually the one making the meals.

I had heard this was a great restaurant and took some friends there while on a girl’s trip. The experience is very odd and was off-putting to me. The restaurant should have an outside entrance from the street so you don’t have to walk past the front desk and dining rooms for the retirement center. All of the food came from down the hallway when we expected it to come from the kitchen in the restaurant. The kitchen must be shared between the eating establishments in the retirement center. Teshla was our waitress and did a good job.
