I was REALLY excited to see kind of a DTF knock off in Utah lol especially when it comes to their xiao long bao. When I came, the wait was quite long, so please try to make a reservation! Their menu is quite extensive with a lot of traditional asian dishes you don’t see often. Unfortunately, when I dined, their menu was changing so a lot of the dishes I wanted to order were not in stock! I ordered a few of the veggie dishes – they were all delicious and quite sizable! I highly recommend the garlic eggplant. I also ordered chicken wonton in hot and spicy soup, as well as veggie fried baos. These dumplings were both less than average. The soup the wontons came in was lacking a lot of flavor. The baos were nice and soft, but that’s not what I wanted when ordering a pan fried baos – I want the nice crunch! However, it didn’t have that. Overall, I will come back to try out some other items, but I will skip on the pan fried baos and wontons next time. Oh – but the restaurant is nice and clean.

Great authentic Chinese food, specifically Sichuan cuisine, made with fresh ingredients. Good portion size as well. Beautiful elegant traditional dinning area with very friendly staffs. What truly stands out is the care and heart put into every detail—from the creative and exquisite tableware and thoughtfully designed menu to the charming takeout bags. Space is clean and neat, well-maintained. It is a really wonderful place for family/friend dine-out for an exceptional Chinese dining experience (((o(*゚▽゚*)o))) highly recommended

This was our second time coming here. Both times we have gotten the pork bao, which is really yummy! My wife loves the steamed baos .

The second time we came, we got the spicy pork in oil sauce and it was really good. They use a small peppercorn that is common in Chinese dishes that has a citrus taste and a tingly sensation when you bite into it. Not my favorite, but that is a me problem

I have been wanting to try Zhu Ting Ji for a few weeks now due to its apparent and obvious comparison to Din Tai Fung in the reviews here. With that being said, it warrants being reviewed without comparing it to Din Tai Fung dish by dish. Zhu Ting Ji has made a name for itself in my eyes, and I’m grateful to have a Chinese restaurant of this caliber in Utah! The dining experience I had this past Saturday easily helped Zhu Ting Ji climb to one of my favorite local restaurants with such ease.

I went during the day on Saturday to ensure that my husband and I could really enjoy our meal without the hindrance of a dinner rush. This was absolutely the right move for us as we were sat very quickly, and service was consistent and quick for the duration of our meal. While they do have a fairly large menu, we went into the meal with an idea of what items we were hoping to try here from experience with other restaurants’ similar menu items. And let me tell you, there was not one item that we did not thoroughly enjoy. The dishes came out as they were ready, which was great for really focusing on trying each item separate from one another.

Chicken Xiao Long Bao: I have been searching high and low for a local restaurant that has chicken Xiao Long Bao, so I was very excited to try the ones here. The broth temperature inside the soup dumpling level was perfectly hot, and the flavor was incredible. I will mention that the wrapper was a bit thick towards the top, but you can tell that every soup dumpling was made with precision and care as they were visually very consistent across the board. We would have ordered a second order if we weren’t wanting to try more of a variety of items.

Chicken Wontons: These were most definitely a highlight of our meal. When ordering the wontons, you have the option to choose the flavor, and we went with the Szechuan Pepper Spicy flavor. The flavor was absolutely to die for and the umami to the flavor was mouth-watering. The Szechuan flavor was truly Sichuan with it having that almost numbing effect after eating the wontons in the sauce. It was an incredible mouth-feel experience paired with flavor that packed a punch.

Cold Noodle with Chili Garlic Sauce: This was a definite must-have with our order. You should, of course, mix all the toppings in with the noodles to form the perfect bite. This is a very garlic forward dish and paired with the medium heat level of the chili; we absolutely could not have enough of this dish. The heat from the spices was the perfect compliment to the cold noodles.

Shrimp Chow Mein: We ordered this dish with the intent that we wanted to bring it home for leftovers, and it carried out well. While it wasn’t the showstopper of the meal, it was still really great Shrimp Chow Mein. The shrimp were plump and cooked to perfection. The noodles were executed well, and I enjoyed that the vegetables were julienned so they could wrap into a bite with the noodles well.

Beef and Onion Bao Buns: My husband ordered these for himself as I don’t eat beef, but he really enjoyed these. Once again, the craftsmanship with the folding technique is seriously so impressive; each Bao was a perfect replication of the one next to it. He mentioned that that he especially enjoyed the texture of the Bao wrapper, and for 3 for $7.99 the flavor to value ratio cannot be beat.

Overall, the food experience we had here was once that a lot of Utah restaurants are not able to offer. There are not many mistakes that one can make when ordering off the menu as every item is made with the same level of care across the board. Additionally, we spent under $70 for six items, including my husband’s green tea, which felt like such a steal for the quality of food you’re ordering here. Upon leaving, we were already thinking about other items that we are wanting to try for our next visit to Zhu Ting Ji, and I have a feeling that our next visit will be right around the corner!

Yum! Zhu Ting Ji is a great option for good Chinese food. They have a huge menu with options for everyone, great service, and reasonable prices.

The ambiance is welcoming, minimalist, and tidy. Our server was so sweet and helpful, making helpful recommendations as this was our first visit.

LOVED the Bao, the dumplings, and the Fried Rice. I look forward to coming back and trying a different entree to mix things up and perhaps getting the chocolate dumplings my friends keep telling me about.

The food was so delicious! The Xiao long boa was amazing and melted in your mouth. The vegetables were crispy and crunchy. And to top it off, the chocolate buns were a perfect finishing treat. Totally recommend!!

Great food. Great Mapo tofu, if I have an option to add beef in an eggplant, that would amazing. Looking for good boiled fish, you ask to reduce Szechuan pepper if you don’t like the numbness. A lot of varieties of dishes. Nice setting and ambience. Servers help each other on bringing food. Can’t wait to come back to try twice cook pork, slice beef, pickled fish, and dumpling too. And braised beef noodle. Almost the whole menu.

All around poor experience. We walked in and got dirty looks from a chef walking out the front door to take a smoke break. Then rude service from all the staff who sat us and served us. The atmosphere literally feels like you are sitting in your middle school cafeteria because all you hear is banging from the kitchen. No music, extremely cold and unwelcoming. The food was DISAPPOINTING. The Xiao long bao was chewy and undercooked, fried rice was nothing special and the pork bao seemed like they were from Costco. We didn’t finish any of the food despite being very hungry. I seriously think you could get better food from the Asian Trader Joe’s pre packaged section. I would not come again. If you are thinking it’s an alternative to Din Tai Fung….its like the trailer park trash goodwill version of dtf. The only good interaction we had was with the newly hired girl that paid us out.

VERY busy dinner service on Saturdays. But delicious food for sure. We ordered the whole duck, pork xaio long and vegetable dumplings in Szechuan sauce. Everything was exactly what we were looking for. Definitely our new go to place for food.

Pretty good! We wait just for 3 minutes to have our table set up. I was craving for the braised beef noodle soup but they were out so I ended up ordering another dish.Service was good as well.
