This is a very interesting place with really nice decor. The staff was great and the food came out promptly. What impressed us most was that the flavors were extremely similar to what we’ve had at my mother-in-law’s house—which is the highest compliment I can give! We eat Puerto Rican food quite often, and the pernil and mofongo here are must-tries. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Really good authentic puertorrican food. It took me back home!! Ordering was so easy using the barcode at the tables. The mofongo con camarones was my favorite. Real piña colada and delicious flavors. Definitely will return to try other things in the menu! If I would critic anything is to add a little more salt to the carne frita but other than that, can’t complaint. Prices are decent too for the type of food and the time it takes to do our food.

I stopped by La Famosa for a to-go order and had a great experience. The staff were friendly, my order came out quickly and everything was packed nicely and tasted delicious.
The atmosphere inside felt warm and colorful, so I’ll definitely be coming back to dine in next time.

This is a really cute, sit down, quick kinda place to eat. The food is not too bad. Pina colada was great. The tostones are far too small and not crispy. The pastelillos were amazing. They do charge for hot sauce which is odd. The sandwiches are pretty basic. So if you are looking for that, then it’s easy to find here.

La Famosa NEVER DISAPPOINTS! The food is always incredible, the salsa music in the background is a vibe, and the service is excellent!
As a Boricua myself it can be hard to find a place that delivers such an authentic and delicious experience. Their food is so good you can just indulge on the sides/apps alone and be satisfied.
If you are in the Navy Yard you have to check them out. You will not be disappointed. 10/10 recommendation.

This is our favorite local Puerto Rican spot. Food is always fresh and mucho sabor! Staff are very friendly and treat you very nice. Drinks are ALWAYS on point. There is plenty of table seating, and a nice bar, there’s a lovely outdoor space.

Very good Puerto Rican food. At the beginning, it was a little weird for us, because we had never had the experience of ordering there. It took me by surprise, because we’re not local and even I agreed with technology, this place does not have “servers” like the typical way of other restaurants. You had to scan the table code and add your order. We were confused because we didn’t know if we had to add everything at the same time or not, and even though I asked for help, it wasn’t quite clear how to do it. At the end, we got through and placed our order, and like we expected, everything came at the same time, but nobody told us. Anyway, the food was good. My recommendation to them is that even if they have a different style to order, provide more to the customer.

I had such a good experience here for happy hour, I can’t wait to come back! The vibes were amazing, a perfect playlist, great customer service, unbeatable prices, delicious food, clean space, quick turn around time with what you order etc. I have nothing negative to say! Where else can you get SIX drinks for $15?? also they treated my gluten allergy with care and expertise! 10/10

The bartender, Brandon, and the manager, Issa, are both phenomenal! The happy hour is the best around, $1 medalla, $2 cuba libre! Apps are $8 and super tasty, I can vouch for the pollo and the sliders. Issa even let us try some of the coquito he was experimenting with behind the bar. Just phenomenal service, insane prices for DC.
