Super cute and cozy place! Friendly staff, phenomenal food. Ordered Thukpa and the Singapore noodles. Our waitress was cheery, though we never caught her name. Too bad we were only passing through, would love to come back one day!

I love Zen Zero so much — it’s one of my favorite spots for food. I usually get the Thai glass noodles with tofu because they’re just that good, and their green coconut curry is absolutely amazing too! The people who work there are always upbeat and kind, no matter the day, which makes every visit such a treat. It’s really something special to have Zen Zero in Lawrence.

A unique little restaurant in the heart of downtown Lawrence, it offers some ethnic variety, lots are gluten free options, vegan and vegetarian. I got the pad thai with shrimp, which was a bit different than what I’ve had elsewhere. The noodles were thinner, kind of sticky. The taste and portion size was good. We shared thai spring rolls with peanut sauce, which was a refreshing start. My husband had the tom kha soup, which was more tangy than sweet, had tomatoes in it, not what I would expect in the soup. It wasn’t bad, but wasn’t as good as another place we’ve had it. We ended with mango ice cream, which was tasty. Overall, service was satisfactory, food was good, atmosphere was relaxed.

It was such a great date night. We did a reservation day of for the patio. I can argue one of the best pastas I’ve had. The service was amazing!! Our server Ian was so sweet. A great atmosphere and we had a bit of a longer wait for our food (which we didn’t mind because it was SO good) but they comped our dessert!! This is a must try if you are in the area.

edit: came here again and ordered the same thing on a friday night. both tasted off but the nepalese dry chicken curry was super sour. we couldnt eat any of it and had to leave it. we told the waitress and apparently we had one of the last servings before they sold out of it. The thai tea is super sweet and felt premade. seems like diff hours/day impacts the food quality.

04/22/2024: My expectations were low when it came to Zen Zero and having lots of experience in Thai and pretty much every Asian cuisine. For a small college town of Lawrence, Kansas in middle America, Zen Zero isn’t that bad. The pad see ew could have had more char to the noodles, but the amount was plentiful and flavor pretty good. The seafood green curry was also very tasty. The spring rolls were okay. The prices were decently reasonable. I would definitely go again to Zen Zero when I’m back working in Lawrence. Thanks!

The food was great! They used to be more Americanized….used to over sweeten the dishes….but lately they have been doing a much better job of sticking to more authentic Thai cuisine.

Interesting little eating places on Mass. If you like Asian food this is one of many options in Lawrence. Every thing had great flavor, just keep in mind not all Thai taste the same even though they call it the same.

Ordered dumplings, udon and green curry. The dumplings had air pockets, the ingredients were mushy without texture. The person who wrapped the dumpling was lack of skill. Broth for udon was flavorless. On a Saturday afternoon, the host was also the waitress and took forever to take my order. Knocked off 2 stars for food quality, and 1 star for poor staffing.
