First off, the lady handing the food couldn’t have been nicer! She was very kind and the order was completed quickly…now onto the food…yikes. I ordered 4 fingers, 2 Cole slaws, a shake and 4 sauces. It was around $21.00. The shake was the BEST part of the meal! The chicken fingers were cold and the chicken was super stringy/rubbery. I tossed those. The Cole slaw was about 1.5 tablespoons in each cup (these were 2.00 dollars a piece.) They were warm, super dry (no juices) and had a weird aftertaste. These were tossed as well. The shake was..amazing. I should have just gotten that and called it a day. This was around 6:15-6:30 PM and there were 2 of us in the DT. Total disappointment. Again, the lady at the window is an asset to this location…now if they can just fix their food quality issues…

Absolutely terrible customer service at this Zaxby’s location. I placed my order in the drive-thru and realized I forgot one single chicken tender—that’s it. There was no one else behind me, and instead of helping, I was rudely told I would have to drive all the way back around just to add one tender.

I wasn’t asking for anything for free. I had cash in hand ($2.11) and was more than willing to pay. The attitude and lack of basic customer courtesy were unbelievable over something so small and easily fixable.

This experience left a bad taste, and we won’t be returning to this location for a long time. Customer service clearly isn’t a priority here.

The staff was incredible! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and the food was fresh and delicious. Jacob went above and beyond to make my family feel welcome, and the service was fast. We’ll definitely be returning—10/10 recommend!

Excellent. The staff members were super friendly and they communicated well as I waited for my order. The food was hot and fresh even in a take out to home scenario. Sauces are excellent. Would definitely want to go back because of the food & service!

They are not very fast here. Even after you place an online order! I placed an online order and went to pick it up 10min later and they had me pull in the drive thru and park there while they were taking others orders. Even when placing an order online you will most likely be waiting in that line for another 20 min while everyone else gets their order! It’s not only happened once but honestly 3 different occasions. This is unacceptable!!

Yeah Yeah
I don’t usually write long reviews unless a place really stands out — I just went and the Zaxby’s on Brownsboro Road absolutely deserves the spotlight. I’ve been to several Zaxby’s locations in Kentucky and beyond, and while most of them are solid, this one is in a league of its own. From the moment you walk through the door (or pull up to the drive-thru), you can tell this team takes pride in their work.

Let’s start with the basics: the building itself. This Zaxby’s is well-kept, clean inside and out, and smells fresh — never like fryer oil or old food. The dining area is always tidy, the trash bins aren’t overflowing, and the tables are wiped down regularly. Even the bathroom is clean, which isn’t always the case at fast food spots. Whether you’re dining in or picking up, the environment gives off more of a “fast-casual” vibe than fast food.

Zaxby’s is known for chicken, obviously, but how it’s prepared makes a difference. Brownsboro Road’s location nails it every time. The chicken is always juicy, never dry or overcooked. The breading is crispy and golden — not soggy, not over-fried. Their Chicken Finger Plate? Always stacked, with the toast perfectly buttery and the crinkle fries cooked to the right crispness. Salads are fresh with cold ingredients, and nothing looks like it’s been sitting in a bin too long. And their Zax Sauce — that sweet, tangy, peppery gold — never disappoints.

The wings deserve a shout too. I’ve tried them in a couple different styles, but the Tongue Torch and Nuclear sauces are packed with flavor, not just heat. The cooks here season with care — it’s not slapped together like at some other places.

This may sound like a small thing, but the Brownsboro Road Zaxby’s always has working drink machines with plenty of ice. It matters. Their sweet tea is the best of any Zaxby’s I’ve had, and I don’t say that lightly. It tastes freshly brewed, not syrupy or artificial. If you’re a tea person, you already know what I mean.

They’re also really good about remembering extra sauces, ranch, napkins, straws — things that you often have to go hunting for or request twice at other spots.

The real heart of this location is the staff. The team here is on point. They greet you politely, speak clearly, and actually seem to care about your order. I’ve had cashiers double-check to make sure everything was right before handing over the bag. Even when they’re busy (which they often are — it’s a popular spot), the line moves fast and people stay professional.

A huge shoutout to the management here — you can tell the employees are trained well and probably enjoy working under good leadership. It shows in how they move, communicate, and keep things running smoothly.

Fast, efficient, and accurate — three words that sum up the drive-thru experience here. The speaker is clear, the order takers are friendly, and the food comes out hot. I’ve never had a single order from the Brownsboro Road drive-thru come out wrong. They even staple the bags shut, which is great for delivery orders or takeout — gives you peace of mind.

Mobile orders through the Zaxby’s app are also a breeze. I’ve scheduled pickups and walked in to find my food already waiting, neatly bagged and labeled. They don’t play about speed and efficiency.

Whether you’re grabbing dinner with the family or just swinging by for a solo bite, this Zaxby’s hits the mark. There’s always enough seating, and the environment feels safe, chill, and never chaotic like some fast food places. You can sit down and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.

I placed a mobile order. Once I arrived I went to the outside lane that is meant for mobile orders. I sat there for 10 minutes and was never addressed to ask my name. About 15 cars came and went through the drivethru and when there was no car at the window they looked at me but never asked my name. I decided to pull up to the speaker after the 10 minutes of not being addressed and was told to pull to the outside lane. They still never asked me my name. I informed them that I sat there for 10 minutes and was not addressed. They said we can’t help that. I pull to the outside lane again. Sit for another 10 minutes still not addressed at all. Some other guy comes out and ask if I am Danielle to which I replied no. The other guy who has been working the window finally comes around the other car in the drivethru to ask me my name. I tell him my name and he goes back he grabs my food and drink and brings it to me. I noticed my drink had ice in it even though I ordered no ice. But I decided to just let it be and head home and as I am heading home I go to take a sip of my drink and realize it is coke. I ordered sweet tea. I can not stand the taste of coke it taste like bile to me. So I decide to take it back to get the right drink. They told me to pull around he gave the drink to the car in front of me and the guy handed it back and said it was not his. He then gives it to me next. While I was waiting for those 20 minutes for my food I noticed he did that with several other drinks as well. I have worked in the food industry and I know you can not take it back and hand it to someone else you have to remake it. But I took the drink anyways. He never apologized for giving me the wrong drink. Every interaction he had with anyone was that he did not want to be there and did not care. I decided to call the store because my food was cold as ice by the time I got home and I do not live that far away. After the phone finally stopped ringing and ringing I finally reached someone. I asked for the manager and she said she was the manager. I told her what happened she told me to come back with my receipt to get it replaced. I am full now I do not want it again. So I asked what is coming back going to do for me? She said we can remake it the right way for you. The whole time she is super sassy on the phone and sounded like she just did not care. She then says what do you want a refund? I said yeah I would like a refund. She goes ok I have to call my district manager and see if we can do that and hung up on me. Never asked for my return number. I was late clocking back in from lunch because of this taking so long at the store. I love Zaxby’s but after this I am not sure that I will be back.

Normally I do not do reviews… But I’ll make an exception for the manager you guys have. I come there quite often and I promise it’s never as good unless she’s there! I didn’t catch her name but she the Afro-American short Manger with a bun. Her name started with a r I think. I’ll b me back because of her!
