I had the cobb zalad, which I’ve had at other Zaxby’s and really like. This one was a bit skimpier and the flavor wasn’t as good. I don’t know why that would be so maybe my tastes was off. My husband ordered the new Asian chicken zalad, he had been looking forward to after seeing it advertised on tv. He was disappointed, said it looked better on TV than it was.

I was traveling through Danville and stopped at Zaxby’s around 11:15 a.m. for lunch with my family of three. The doors were unlocked, and both the online hours and the signage on the door clearly stated a 10:00 a.m. opening time. However, as soon as we walked in, we were immediately told, “We aren’t open yet.” Yet, the doors were unlocked and we were able to walk in.
I politely asked what time they would be opening since everything indicated they should already be open. Two cashiers went to the back, and another employee came out from the kitchen area and simply said, “We aren’t open.” When I asked again what time they would be open, she responded rather rudely, “Late opening today,” without offering any explanation or estimated time.
There were at least four employees visible during our visit, so it was confusing and disappointing to be turned away without clear communication. If there was a delay, a sign on the door or a more professional explanation would have gone a long way.
We ended up leaving and taking our business elsewhere. It was an uncomfortable and questionable experience, and I hope corporate looks into this situation to ensure better communication and professionalism for future customers.

Stopped by the Zaxby’s here in Danville, VA, for a quick lunch and finally got to try the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Honestly, it’s a new favorite.
The chicken itself is perfectly breaded and incredibly juicy, but the real star is the flavor and heat. They’ve nailed the spice level—it’s got that wonderful, building warmth that makes your tastebuds stand up and take notice, but it never crosses the line into painful. It’s a great flavor that’s complemented by just a nice amount of heat. If you like a kick without needing to chug a gallon of water, this is it.
But what’s a sandwich without the perfect side? You absolutely cannot overlook the seasoned crinkle cut fries. They’re golden, crispy, and the signature seasoning is savory and addictive—the perfect textural contrast to the sandwich.
Pro-Tip for Maximum Satisfaction: When you order your combo, spend the extra dollar! The upgrade for a large fry and a large drink is a no-brainer. More of those fantastic fries and a big refreshing drink to wash down that satisfying spice is definitely the way to go.

The only reason I gave one star was because the lady that took my order was so nice about the 30 minutes it took to get a 4 finger plate. There’s no help. The rest of the staff look like they don’t want to even work. My food was warm at most when I finally got it. Top it all off they were out of cookies again! Like this the 6th time I’ve come in and there’s no cookies. As a general manager in the food industry I know it’s rough out here, but there is no supervision in the store and I watched customers walk about because nobody is taking their order. Employees walking around the lobby drinking sodas like they are customers. It’s a circus here. Maybe they need a change in ring leader.

Every single time we have been here in the past 6 months it has taken at least 45 minutes in drive thru and that’s with 2 maybe 3 other vehicles in the drive thru. The inside of the restaurant is nasty, the staff sucks. How damn long does it take to fix some chicken nuggets. You can go to a fancy steakhouse, wait on a table, eat, and be out and on your way before you even get up to the order window at this Zaxbys. Not to mention, every single time they have messed something up in the order. Worst fast food experience ever.

This was my first time here and we don’t have these where I live. The food was very good but I was disappointed to see that they didn’t have fried chicken pieces, just tenders and wings. The taste of the seasonings of the tenders and fries was delicious. The chocolate chip cookies were also very good. Also if you don’t want to touch the drink machine you can select your drink on your phone for contact free pouring options .

I just Ordered 2 wings and things. Young lady at drive-thru told me that it would be a 20 minute wait because they was closing in a few minutes. I told her that was fine. Luckily I only waited 5 minutes. Food was cold and look like scraps. I will not be back at this location.

This is no doubt one of the WORST zaxbys i’ve ever been to. The line is always long because kids on the inside ARE NOT productive. I try to beat the line by heading inside and team leads are literally on their phone talking and taking orders. I watched my food sit in the window for over 5 minutes. Kids in the kitchen with beats headphones on …. and to top it off, a long white hair was COOKED into my chicken tender. This restaurant needs better management or corporate to step in…. Disgusting.

Paid for wings and things and this is what the “ things “ look like, the size of my wife’s pinkey. Sauce spilled all over the plate wings undercooked and fries were cold. I’ll never be coming back here again as this was my first time ever !!
