We’ve eaten here a few times. They overall quality is good with a few exceptions. The chicken can be a bit dry and Luke warm if you order outside of busy times. Also we’ve had a few times where they have gotten the order wrong on small items. For example, I ordered a chicken sandwich with cheese and bacon. They put a minimal amount of cheese and have forgotten to put the bacon on. Also when they do remember the bacon, it’s like half a slice. Sometimes the food is overly salty, especially the sandwiches. Not every time, but we’ve gotten signature sandwiches that were nearly inedible. The salads are great and the crinkle cut fries are mostly good but sometimes cold and old. On the whole, I’d say the quality is better than average but could benefit from some small tweaks. Outside of busy times, I’d rather wait a bit longer for fresh food as well. None of these negatives will keep us away though, it’s that addictive.

Since they have opened I have eaten here maybe 3 times. I always get the same thing. Each time my order has been messed up. I know that zaxbys give sauces when you get your order. They didn’t even give me the basic sauces they usually give, they only gave me the 2 I requested for a wings and things meal. I didn’t know I had to request the others that usually come with it. Prior order I didn’t get all my chicken they gave me the tensors but left the traditional wings out. They did offer to replace the meal however I do not live in Rocky Mount so I forget to get the food every time I do be in Rocky Mount. When I called to complain today the lady was not the nicest. I told her I am tired of coming and my food being messed up every time. Then I never get the replacement meal because I forget. I told them since they are newly opened (less than a year, maybe exactly 6 months) they shouldn’t be messing up orders that much. My recipe said extra fries… fries were cold but there certainly was no extra fries. she offered for me to turn around and get a replacement but I was not in any situation to be able to turn around. Again I don’t live in Rocky Mount.. to just simply turn around. I love Zaxbys, I’m not sure if this is a Virginia thing, but customer service not there and the attitude is unnecessary. I didn’t even want a meal replacement this time since I always forget… I just want them to know they keep messing up my order… she said they didn’t have any complaints today… that’s today and the day isn’t over with and well here is your first complaint. Now let me see how to post this recording of phone conversation, I doubt I can.

Ladies & gents gather around because what I just experienced was not dinner, it was a culinary main event. I rolled up to Zaxbys like a humble contender, but what landed in my lap was the 6 Finger Plate of Destiny. 6 golden chicken fingers. Not 5. Not 7. 6. The Stonehenge of poultry geometry. Each one crunching louder than tectonic plates beneath the Himalayas. 1 bite & suddenly you are standing at the edge of the Grand Canyon screaming into the void of deliciousness. Let me tell you something brother, there was no coleslaw. That weak cabbage participation trophy was buried. Instead there was extra Texas toast, thick buttery slabs toasted like the sands of the Sahara, bread mighty enough to make Roman emperors whisper by Jupiter this toast slaps. The fries were well done with extra seasoning, crispier than autumn leaves under a monster truck & seasoned like some wizard climbed Mount Olympus & stole Zeus’s lightning. 2 Zax sauces, a ranch & a barbecue formed the Mount Rushmore of flavor. Washed down with an ice cold Coke Zero that hit like Niagara Falls. When it was over I felt like the heavyweight champion of fried chicken, that meal did not just feed my stomach, it fed my soul.

I love their Cobb Zaled and the many different sauces for their wings. The staff are always friendly and love the decors. Very southern homie vibe. Definitely will continue to come back for more. 🙂

This place is brand new and is still EXTREMELY busy. The parking lot is an absolute nightmare as you cannot completely circle through with the double drive thru traffic taking up the thoroughfare.
It took a LONG time to get our food but it was very hot and fresh. Very tasty. I recommend giving this place some time to cool down before visiting.

1st time to this Zaxby’s the service was fine, they seemed understaffed but still brought the food to our table. The normal soda machine was a welcome sight. The woman at the counter was multitasking the counter and the drive thru at the same time. The strips have been downsized dramatically the last one was so thin you could almost see thru it. Definetely not worth the money anymore. The strips used to be decent sized and meaty. These were more like a kids meal size strip. The sauces they gave 1 sauce for a 5 piece strip never had that at others. Asked for an extra Zac’s sauce and was charged for it. I understand things are tight but come-on enough is enough.
The restaurant and restrooms were fairly clean with a table or 2 that needed attention but plenty of clean seating could be found.
Plenty of parking, but it can be difficult to get into when coming off of 220 towards the restaurant.

I ate here many times and had actually left a scathing review a while back. I had ordered online and been left to wait for 45 minutes after they pulled us off to the side and forgot we were there. That was many times. They would pull you and forget. You had to walk in and go where os my stuff.
Since then they have got rid of the two manager types that were sassy and zero accountability and hired on a great staff. I wanted to amend my review to reflect that they have totally changed.
The folks waiting the window more recently were friendly, the food was ready to go in a reasonable time and was all made correct to the order. I am really shocked at how they turned this place around and really made the culture great it looks like too.

Very patient and polite service, food was fresh, and my decently large order was entirely correct. Always wanted to try the new location but never got the chance until now. Which I don’t regret. In a town where you get tired of the same old same old, it’s nice to have a new place to have as an option.
