Zano’s Family Italian & Pizzeria has been a reliable go-to for us over the years, and it’s consistently delivered. The Italian dishes and pizzas are flavorful, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. On our recent visit, the mushroom ravioli was especially good, and the chocolate cake for dessert was the perfect finish. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly, attentive service. A great choice in Truckee when you’re craving comforting, thoughtfully prepared Italian food.

The service was awesome, our waiter was very nice! And the restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere and was cozy. However, the wait took quite a long time, ~45 minutes which was not ideal. The food itself was slightly above average B+ if you will. I ordered an angel hair pasta, and the pasta itself was delicious, the pesto was an excellent flavor, and the pasta was cooked well. However the chicken was very dry. I mean like pretty very dry. Although the food was good, I don’t know if it justifies the $22 price. I would give it a 3.5 but that’s not an option.

Great food. The pizza has excellent flavor. The wait staff were amazingly hospitable. We accidentally left behind a phone and they collected it and even we came back in they knew why we were there. It was 100$ including tip but it was pizza drinks and pasta for 5. Great crowd of locals. We would go there again eventhough we live 70 miles away

Came here after skiing on a Saturday during peak hours so we waited for quite a while. An expected situation but things felt a little hectic. They did not take reservations for a party of our size but didn’t seem to have enough tables to seat us effectively.
Nonetheless, the food was pretty good! We got the godfather to split and it did not feel as heavy as you would expect a 6lbs deep dish pizza to be. I appreciated the variety of filling which made it feel like a hearty but healthy meal.

Friendly staff. Good food. Large portions. Great for large parties. Have done many birthday parties in the back room. The kids love the game room and parents can hang out at the tables in the next room.

I wish I could give it more stars. My husband and I came here the first time on our anniversary and we decided to return with some family last night after hyping the place up since it was so amazing the first time. He ordered a half pepperoni and a half family tradition but instead of pesto sauce have it red sauce and just add onions. We waited 45 minutes for our first pizza to come out and they made it wrong and added pesto sauce instead of red sauce. So we sent it back and waiting another 45 minutes. Mind you every table around us was open. It was a very slow night so we were very confused on what took so long. Our second pizza comes out, one half of the pizza was super dry and too cooked somehow but the pepperoni half was super soggy and flimsy. Thankfully our server was very understanding and comped our check. We did order a side of garlic bread and drinks that were amazing as always. We just wished it was a better day stuff happens so I can’t be too upset. Just wished the service was better when there were a lot less people than the first time we came here.

Deliciously family owned and operated, you will not be disappointed when you support this local small business! We have a family cabin in Tahoe Donner and come up frequently. Surprisingly, we had not tried Zano’s in the past two decades. We will not continue with this mistake and will add Zano’s to our regular places going forward. This time we got it to-go (easily ordered online) as we were focused on a sporting event at home. Always skeptical of the quality of the food when it isn’t served in the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised how well it traveled back home to be served! Two ordered the gnocchi, one ordered the chicken parmigiana, and the fourth ordered a BYO calzone – we all absolutely LOVED our choices! Next time we will try to dine in. We still received great and friendly service for our food pick up!

Cardboard crust, with rubbery ingredients. Ordered a Family Tradition, because I love pesto. Not sure how a pizza can have that many ingredients and taste like a cardboard box, but that’s what I got. Not even the slightest taste of pesto or basil and the crust was very thin & overcooked. Lackluster in every regard. The pepperoni was just as bad. A disappointing, over priced experience.

Been here several times over the past few years and I keep going back because it’s awesome!! For this price range it’s hard to beat in this town. The pizza is good especially the godfather which is HUGE. I have also got the lasagna in the past and I really like it (best in Truckee IMO). Also local family owned!
