Great food food, top place to eat in Norwich. The steaks were amazing, specials board recommended. Loved the Asian chili beef salad. Will be coming back. And oh yes service with a smile.

We all arrived at the 1 star Michelin pub, took a seat at the table, looked at the menu and left. Menu language has to talk love. So we tried out another local pub, what an astounding discovery – something for all the family on the menu and why not?! The Cod batter had a deep malty umami flavour coupled with cod which tasted freshly caught in morning. Ginger steamed pudding with a light fluffy cream sauce was insane/divine. Such a welcoming atmosphere and great food as well. Staff were attentive without getting in the way of your lunch. The place looks great and the outside space is lovely too. Menu was varied with plenty of options. Would definitely go back!

Very disappointing experience.
We came in for breakfast but were met with rude staff and a pub that was absolutely freezing. Considering it’s the middle of January, the radiators were cold, which made the atmosphere even more uncomfortable. There was no welcome at all, and we decided to leave before even ordering.
We headed to the Red Lion down the road instead, where it was warm, welcoming, and had a lovely roaring fire — a complete contrast. Unfortunately, this is now our third bad experience at this pub and we won’t be returning here.

Visited on a very busy Tuesday evening (they have a popular £12 main course night on a Tuesday, variety of dishes including steak) service was prompt, efficient and attentive. Food was delicious. Will definitely be back when in the area!

We arrived promptly for our booking but had to wait around 10 minutes to be seated due to how busy the restaurant was. Once seated, our drinks order was taken promptly and served quickly. However, it was at least another 30 minutes before our food order was taken, and by the time our meals arrived, we had been in the restaurant for over an hour.
Our guest ordered the fish and chips, which were served hot and nicely presented. My partner and I both chose the venison burger, but unfortunately, both were served in cold buns, and the patties themselves were dry and overcooked. The only redeeming feature on the plate was the hot, well-cooked chips.
It was clear that the staff were under pressure, which may explain the inattentive service. That said, both servers listened to our feedback, and one main course along with three drinks were removed from the bill, which we appreciated.

Staff were really good. They were friendly and helpful.
The food was lovely. The photos are of Eggs benedict, Eggs and avocado on toast, and the full barrel fry up. I was very satisfied with the Eggs benedict, best I’ve had for a long time.

We have just had my mothers wake here and I cannot thank all the staff enough
The food was amazing lot of it and it kept being topped up we all have a lovely time as it was a sad gathering but everyone complimented on the food
