We were on our way to IKEA and decided to stop for lunch. This place is 2 miles from IKEA and had great reviews so we stopped in. Stephanie was our server and her customer service is unparalleled. She was super friendly, helpful and enthusiastic about the food. You have to get the roast beef sandwich!!! Awesome!!!! We also got a side salad, soup & fries. We wanted to order another sandwich! That’s how good it was! It was a great lunch pick. I had glanced at the negative reviews and after eating there I don’t get it. It’s a locally owned bar. Who cares that it’s served on a small paper plate? I thought it added to the charm. Ignore the few negative reviews and go with the positive! The roast beef sandwich is bar none!

Having spent the vast bulk of my life in the general vicinity of this place, it’s probably accurate to say that I have passed it thousands of times but tonight was my first time coming in to try the renowned roast beef. Now, that said, I have never been a big roast beef guy. So, how was it? Pretty good, moist and tasty – what more can you ask for? Gravy-covered fries were crispy where they hadn’t been covered in gravy and juicy in the parts that were. Yummy. Really comfy, homey, unpretentious atmosphere, service and clientele.

Gravy is delicious and the kaiser roll tastes super fresh. Really kind, attentive, welcoming service. The beef itself is fresh; I recommend planning to add your own salt and seasonings to it, along with the gravy it’ll make it good.

Been coming here since the early seventies. Lately the roast beef sandwiches have gotten skimpier and skimpier. NO meat around the edges!! AND much more costly. I mean, 3 roast beef sandwiches 36+ dollars. Of course, I’m older and know how good things WERE. I KNOW that I could make a roast beef better now so being upstaged isn’t a concern anymore. Maybe I’ll try 20th street in South Philly…Nick’s roast beef. It can’t be worse.

The staff here is top knotch. The food is spot on. We were there when an elderly woman was clearly struggling. We offered to pay but the staff said they already took care of her. They were respectful, sat with her and were just everything she needed. We loved this place prior but geeze after that this is definitely our go to. A place that also takes care of its community. Good food. Good environment. Great staff. What more can u ask for.
