Absolutely outstanding from start to finish! Every dish we ordered was beautifully prepared and packed with flavor, making this one of those meals you keep thinking about long after it’s over.
We began with the “Baker’s Dozen” oysters, which were incredibly fresh and perfectly presented—briny, clean, and a fantastic way to kick things off.
The Chicken Piccata with angel hair was a standout: tender chicken paired with wild mushrooms, shallots, capers, and a bright lemon butter sauce that was rich yet perfectly balanced.
The Tortelloni Rosa, with grilled shrimp added, was pure comfort—pillowy pasta, a creamy tomato sauce, and shrimp cooked just right.
The Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection, incredibly tender, and paired beautifully with smoky gouda hash browns and crisp broccolini. Every component on the plate felt intentional and well-executed.
Dessert sealed the deal. The Crema al Limone was light, refreshing, and full of vibrant citrus flavor, while the Crème Brûlée had that ideal crackly top with a silky, rich custard underneath.
To top it all off, our waiter was incredible—attentive without hovering, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm, which elevated the entire experience.
Exceptional food, impeccable service, and a menu that clearly reflects care and skill in the kitchen. This place is a true gem, and we can’t wait to return.

Noah was our server on our last day visiting Rochester for the fall colors. The best service we have had in a long time. We felt a great sense for attention to detail and care. The flow of service was outstanding, the food recommendations, and drink recommendations. Everything was above the expectations that were set. The atmosphere here is great too but make sure to request Noah to seal the deal for a fantastic evening.

Terza is a true gem, centrally located in the heart of downtown Rochester. Often called the best Italian restaurant in Minnesota by locals, it absolutely lived up to the hype.

The food was exceptional — we enjoyed the Lasagna Terza with meatballs and the Fettuccine Alfredo, both served hot, flavorful, and perfectly timed. The presentation and portion sizes were spot-on.

The cocktails were equally impressive — we tried the Black Widow and a specialty martini, and both were perfectly balanced and delicious.

Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the overall atmosphere was warm, elegant, and inviting, making it an ideal spot for both date nights and special occasions.

Another bonus: Terza is conveniently located near the Hotel Indigo, Hilton Garden Inn, and the Mayo Clinic, making it an easy choice for visitors.

If you’re in Rochester and craving authentic Italian with top-notch service and ambiance, Terza is a must-visit.

Our experience at Terza was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and genuine smiles from the staff. The service was quick and attentive, and the atmosphere was elegant yet cozy, with perfect lighting and tasteful décor.

The food was absolutely outstanding. We started with the fresh oysters, which were perfectly seasoned and incredibly fresh — each bite tasted like it came straight from the sea. The steak with fries was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful, with crispy golden fries on the side. The mushroom pasta was rich, creamy, and full of depth, cooked to the perfect texture. Even the appetizers and drinks were of top-notch quality.

This is the kind of place that’s perfect for a special dinner, a family gathering, or a romantic night out. It’s a wonderful combination of exquisite flavors and an inviting atmosphere. Definitely a must-visit in Rochester, and I can’t wait to come back!

We were sat at the bar to make sure we didnt have a long wait. Justin took fantastic care of us, explained some of the history behind Terza (like how the pasta is hand made by the owner every day and how the mother sauce hasn’t been changed since his grandmother taught it to him), made sure our drinks and bread basket were never empty, and our food was served hot.

My goodness. This was the best Italian food, especially the pasta, that I have ever had. Chicken Parmesan and fresh made Alfredo sauce served with those fresh noodles in the picture. Creme Brulee and Tiramisu were second to none.

While our reason for being in Rochester, MN isn’t great, the wife and I cant wait to go back here again.

Surprised how busy it was on a Sunday night at 6! Get reservations in guess. Food was solid. Oysters were sweet, pasta had ALL the butter in the sauce. Very rich and satisfying.

Upscale Italian restaurant serving beautiful Italian food! We loved our entrees of Short Ribbed Linguini and Pappardelle Grilled Chicken. We did get an appetizer of Fried Calamari but did not enjoy the texture of the calamari or the sauce the calamari was sitting on top.
Other than the appetizer we really enjoyed our meals!

Our first experience at this restaurant and we loved it. We started with the cheese balls, which were amazing, and moved to the awesome Parmesan crusted walleye. To ensure we had adequate carbs we ordered the cheesy hash browns. And finally, for dessert, we ordered the massive chocolate almond tortino. This could have fed 4 people and was spectacular. You MUST order this! We can’t wait to come here again, hopefully when the temps aren’t -20!

Terza is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Rochester. I’ve been here countless times, and it never disappoints — the food and service are always top-notch.

During my most recent visit with my partner, we had another incredible experience:
• Warm bread basket: They started us off with warm, fresh bread — simple and delicious.
• Fried cheese balls (appetizer): Absolutely amazing! Perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, melty on the inside, and paired with their house-made marinara sauce (or “mother sauce”), which was incredibly fresh and flavorful.
• Wild Mushroom Risotto (my entrée): To die for! Creamy, loaded with mushrooms, well-seasoned, and a generous portion.
• Terza Classic Lasagna with Meatballs (my partner’s entrée): Rich, hearty, and delicious. The lasagna was perfectly layered and flavorful, and the Terza Meatballs were some of the best we’ve had — fresh, well-seasoned, and melt-in-your-mouth good. A must-try for any lasagna lover!
• Drinks: We enjoyed a glass of wine and an Old Fashioned — both well crafted and a great pairing with our meal.
• Dessert: We shared the Tiramisu, and it was the perfect sweet ending. Very well served — the portion is generous and can easily be shared between 2 or even 3 people. Light, creamy, and absolutely delicious.

Tip:

If you’re curious to see the kitchen in action, ask to sit at the kitchen counter — it’s a fun and unique experience.

Pro Tip:

They’re usually busy, so I highly recommend making a reservation in advance.

Terza continues to set the bar for dining in Rochester. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just craving great Italian food, this place is always a win.
