YANHUANG Gourmet

  4.5 – 91 reviews   • Chinese restaurant

This is a authentic Chinese restaurant from Beijing. Beijing food has the lineage of folk + royal family. The folk cuisine has been improved by the royal family. The workmanship is more refined, the ingredients are more abundant, the taste is more fragrant and rich, and it is more international. It doesn’t serve any American Chinese food, we don’t have sesame chicken, General Tso’s chicken, beef fried broccoli, fried wontons, etc. We only serve friends who want to try and love real Chinese food! Thank you all

Always an excellent meal. The dumplings are exceptional, and the entrees are all very tasty. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options, but meat eaters will be equally happy. One thing of note, the service is highly attentive, but is designed as a slow-paced meal. Great place to go with friends to enjoy a meal and chat.

Best. Dumplings. Ever. And the pies, so good. Tried the zhajiang noodle, tastes very different from the lo mein you can get at most Chinese restaurants. Really good once I knew what to expect. We’ll be back! Thank you!

Some of the best TRADITIONAL Chinese food around!! If you order sesame chicken and that’s it, go somewhere else – I don’t even think they have it on their menu. But if you want fresh and delicious traditional Chinese, this is your spot!! Staff is extremely accommodating and super nice. Food is perfect. Tea is hot. Wonton soup is a banger!! Noodle dishes amazing! Everything excellent!

We will definitely be back. It was a unique experience as it seemed only one man was manning the whole place , and it was a bit of a language challenge. However their claim that they are the best dumplings in the US might just be true! They are outstanding! They are so flavorful and not too thick or chewy or gummy that is a downfall of many dumplings. It is a very different selection than other Chinese restaurants around. We had two noodle dishes and both were delicious. I am very much looking forward to trying new things! The only downfall would be time…it won’t be a quick visit, but the man I assume was the owner was so sweet and trying to be helpful…and was literally running around to do everything… that I could only be oddly impressed and not annoyed.

First time dining and we are not impressed. Looking for delicious dumplings and noodles. Food is fresh but doesn’t look like anything in the picture with all the green vegetables like bak Choy. Instead they replaced it with seaweeds. They didn’t inform us of that. We let the server know about it. He is very nice. Very disappointed overall.

The food was bland and disgusting. And almost $20 a plate? What a waste. We dined in, party of four and the place was empty. We only ate vegetarian dishes and they were all bland. The dumplings were tasteless and the sauce in all our dishes was way too salty. It was almost like some of the ingredients were straight out of a grocery store can. I’m not surprised because the food was lower quality than a school lunch! The former restaurant Thai Me Up was great but this new restaurant is HORRIBLE. Also it is Chinese food and not Thai food, just as an FYI. I would recommend skipping this place because it’s so expensive and the food was disgusting.

Everything was delicious! The dumplings were outstanding and the fried milk was a crispy delight. Then we tried the Beijing fried buns and were blown away! Our new go-to for authentic Chinese in Rochester.

Great food! Huge restaurant. Very friendly wait staff. The service was very quick and all dishes came promptly. I loved the honey iced tea, dumpling soup, and Beijing fried buns. Large portions. Would love to have a sampler platter option as an app. Great view for outdoor dining. Ample parking. Excited to try more menu items someday. I think they would be great for takeout. Inside space could use a little more sprucing when time allows.

Nicest services ever. We came right before closing and they were happy to see us. Delicious food, we love the dumplings and noodles. Really worth a try.
