Got chicken and shrimp combo with just onion and salmon cream cheese deep fried all of it was really good, best quick Japanese place I’ve had in Wilmington. Don’t gotta pay for sauce which is a huge plus

We just moved to Wilmington and were searching for our new sushi place when we came across Yaki Express. The service was lovely, the sushi was very fresh, the display was beautiful, the environment relaxing, and the prices very reasonable compared to other sushi places in the area, especially for sashimi which is my personal favorite. This will definitely be our go to sushi place!

Stopped in for take-out on the way out of town. (Was in Wilmington for business). Ordered and paid on their website that was linked, after finding them on Google maps. Ordered the shrimp tempura roll, Philly, spicy tuna and spicy salmon. The staff was very friendly and asked what additional sauces I might want and how many chopsticks. This place is casual, fast, friendly, and tasty! We enjoyed it and glad we found it! This restaurant shares a building with a coffee shop, and there was plenty of parking during standard lunchtime range…

Real friendly folks with fantastic sashimi AND cooked rolls. Usually it’s one or the other with sushi spots, but they have both in spades!! They also support local, veteran-owned small business. 10/10 would recommend.

I am a big fan of Japanese restaurants. I was surprised and delighted to find such a good restaurant in Wilmington. Their beef fried rice is amazing. I wish I had time to go there every day. Yaki Express number 1

This restaurant is truly something special! It’s a family-owned spot run by a brother (Uncle Bear) and sister (TK), who are two of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve ever met — full of energy, heart, and warmth. They show so much passion in everything they do, and it truly shines through in the food.
From the flavorful mushroom soup to the amazing hibachi and sushi combo, every bite was perfection. The food is fresh, beautifully made, and full of flavor. TK makes everyone feel welcome and seen the moment you walk in.
If you’re in the area, you have to stop by — it’s the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression. ❤️

Yaki has taken a dip in quality since our last visit there a year ago. My wife and I could not tell the difference between her steak and chicken and my filet and chicken, suggesting they use the same cut of beef. The chicken was all dark meat which I guess is cheaper. We had to ask twice for mustard and go up to get the food ourselves
It’s still a great value, and our friends really enjoyed their sushi.

The nicest owner, always sweet. Food is the best hibachi in town. Only negative is they aren’t open late enough for me but I try to sneak by during my night shift before they close. I’m so picky about steak at hibachi places, but theirs is the best by far.
