The ribs here are really good!! Like really good! They have a sweet and special sauce that made them very memorable and unique.

The coleslaw, chicken wings and beans were all very delicious in a very relaxed and family friendly environment – big long indoor picnic tables and small cafe tables. It’s a bit self service – order at the counter and take a number but still fast and clean and professional.

They have gluten free bbq sauce too which I very much appreciated!!

I have dined here once but truly don’t remember the food. Atmosphere is cool. I recently ordered delivery and it was not that great. The brisket was very fatty but flavorful (we specifically chose lean meat), the collards had entirely too much vinegar, and pork & beans with burnt ends sadly did not have many burnt ends. Bummed the food wasn’t better, probably won’t try again.

Overall: Stick with the Brisket Grilled Cheese or Skip It

I’ve been here a few times and the place is almost always empty, which surprises me given the location and setup. I usually stick with the brisket grilled cheese—which is incredible—but this time I decided to try some new items.

Unfortunately, most of them missed the mark. The tater tots were soggy, the mac and cheese was bland and dense (just like other reviews said), and the pimento balls and cornbread were both burned. I also wasn’t a fan of the ranch, which I paid extra for.

That said, the brisket sandwich is still a winner—tender, flavorful, and worth coming back for. I’d also recommend the sticky ribs if you want to try something else that delivers on flavor. My family liked the patty melt as well.

The outdoor seating is a plus, and I like that you can order from the window without going inside. I really want to see this area do well, but the inconsistency in the food makes it tough. Stick with the brisket or skip it.

Keith took great care of us for our private event. The space was super cute- they had string lights and little hanging pom-pom decorations. The food was nicely set out, buffet style. Everyone had a good time. Highly recommend!

The smoked turkey was a real treat, lots of flavor and wasn’t dry. The Cuban sandwich was really good, with soft bread, moist pork, and nicely toasted. The pulled pork was blah. The ribs were good but not as tender. The mustard sauce was flavorful. Most of the sides were pretty good too, slaw was the worst of them all no taste at all, mac n cheese was good, beans and burnt ends was nice and filling and the collards were cooked well and seasoned. Would return.

Excellent pulled pork, and pork bean w/ burnt ends. Got the chopped brisket as well, was expecting large chopped cubes, but it came out with a fine chop. Potato salad was ok. Nice selection of sauces. Not pictured is their banana pudding. Solid 4/5

This place isn’t cheap, but the food is almost always worth it. When it’s good, it’s incredible. When it’s an off day, it’s still very good. They have great barbecue, and their patty melt and Cuban sandwich are both five-star options for non traditional orders. Plenty of space inside and out.

Wood Chapel BBQ has really good food. The brisket is very great and the drinks are good. The sides could use some work but I will always be a fan of the brisket here! Great location with great parking. Will return

After tasting the sweet colored greens, I wanted to drop this down to four star. The delicious, authentic cornbread and seasoned brisket and ribs with the awesome baked beans with burnt ends Pushed this place back up to a five star. No issues with the service, plenty seating. Parking wasn’t very visible but I made a Way. Some may struggle with parking, but there are signs for additional parking. The chocolate pecan pie looked interesting but I didn’t try. The banana pudding didn’t look interesting. Fair pricing for inner city BBQ.

I feel that this place could be a four-star, depending on the items you choose, much like many places, whereas we know some places have more positives than negative’s. My experience today was good. Pew seats and card table seats in front. Those greens look delicious, but they were sweet and which I couldn’t eat , all of them. Good bbq sauce and all the amenities you need. Good straightforward menu and restaurant set up. Check this place out. Many other eateries nearby.

The food was great. I loved the brisket and collard greens especially. The mac and cheese was good too. Reasonably priced compared to other BBQ spots. Would definitely recommend. Also, the young woman that took my group’s order this afternoon was super friendly and very hospitable.
