If you are a “bread person,” walking into Woodman’s Artisan Bakery in Nashua is a bit like coming home. In a world of supermarket loaves filled with preservatives, this bakery is doing things the “old-school” way—and you can taste the difference in every crusty, airy bite.
The German & French Standouts
What makes Woodman’s truly special is their dedication to authentic European techniques. Their selection isn’t just “inspired” by Europe; it feels like it was plucked from a street corner in Munich or Paris.

I really enjoyed my turkey sandwich, and will be visiting again. I do wish they had a few juices or chips as they only had hot drinks, I ended up going across the street to the Cumberland when I would have preferred to patronize Woodman’s but they are growing their lunch business, so if you’re in the area it worth the visit, fresh baked breads smell amazing. Extremely cost effective, get in now before more people drive up the prices, one of the few places you can get lunch for $10, and the quality is light years ahead of similar options in this price range. Be sure to check out the “Local Corner”

I visited for the first time today looking for a nice sourdough. I was greeted by lovely baker who was clearly passionate about his craft. I told him it was my first time in, and he went over the different breads they had available as well as their pastries. I went home with an incredible sourdough, scone and sugared croissant (I forget the actual name). Everything was incredible. I’ll never buy bread from the grocery store again. I can’t wait to try more of their breads.

Have been big fans of their breads and parties for years. Discovered them at farmers market and have followed to this location. Best croissants around as well as sourdough breads. Highly recommend!

The BEST bread and pastries New Hampshire (dare I say world?) has to offer.
The passion and dedication to the craft of bread making is present within each loaf and style they offer. Every time I’m in Nashua or catch them at a farmers market I always rush right there.
Bonus points for being absolutely fantastic people!

If you like bread, you need to make a stop here. It’s the real deal! I have seen what a hit he is at local farmer’s markets and I only wish I had jumped on the bandwagon sooner. I bought a loaf of pain de mie specifically to make a great grilled cheese, as recommended – and it delivered! The bread itself surprised me with how sturdy it was while still being so buttery and soft. It’s a million times better than any white bread you could find in stores. I also had to buy a loaf of the “Yukon Dave” as soon as I heard sourdough, and wow am I excited to finally find a loaf that has a real tang to it instead of a vague taste of sourdough. Perfect crust, so much chew. There are other unique varieties daily that you really don’t see in other places around here, like anadama and leinsamenbrot. This is a new gem in Nashua for sure!

We love this bakery! I got a loaf of the sourdough used with the 60year old starter as a gift for a family member that loves it. We also order two ham & cheese sandwiches, which are amazing! They didn’t have any of the little chocolate pastries that we love, but we always go back so we’ll catch them again! Highly recommend!
