Raw again. Specifically ask for well done and not raw each time. I will never again eat the used to be best burger in the Yoop. This is a sad day. Great people and atmosphere but an expensive valentines meal for the dog.

Stopped by after a long day on the trails in U.P. Michigan. Had a long exhausting day after a breakdown on the trail. This place was a sight for sore eyes as I hadn’t seen civilization for quite some time. They were super friendly and gave me some advice on where to go next for some gas as we running low. Had a drink and bought a cool T-shirt as we were there. Will definitely be back again. I even had to make an emergency phone call because we had no cell service, the bartender was super nice and let me use her cellphone for a few minutes. Thanks a million!

A diamond in the rough.. one of those spots you’d drive right by if you didn’t know. Sandwiches are terrific.. open flame broiler is the cat’s ( * ) ! Friendly crew, small interior, but a nice outdoor area. It’s almost always got a crowd.. cars parked on the road some days.. dont be in a hurry,, and be patient with the server and getting your food order. Talk to your neighbor because there’s NO internet and I love that! A room full of folks staring at their phones won’t happen here! ❤

Best burgers around (try the Olive Burger or the Wrangler and the cheese curds) and a great, quiet patio area out back in warmer weather! Our favorite place to chill out and get some great grub after a day kayaking, hiking or working on reno projects! Always fast, friendly service — Thanks Wooden Nickel crew!

The burger was made right behind the bar. The meat was so fresh that you could order it medium rare. The smoked flavor of the grill made it even better. It wasn’t one of those typical frozen meat-discs. The bread was not standard as well. Haven’t found another place that makes such good burgers yet. If you are close by, try it! If not, drive to the place and try it!
