We decided to give this place another shot after a terrible experience back in October. We thought that was just because they were so new. WRONG. Somehow everything is still terrible. We went on a Friday night and the place was a ghost town but we wanted to give it a shot.

They always serve perfect tasting fried oysters. My husband enjoyed his shrimp very much on our last visit. The helpings are not generous but almost sufficient. The food tastes fresh though their fries are bland. The atmosphere is casual and the restaurant is clean. The server tried to interact too much with us though. I think she thought she was being friendly. We could have used a little less interaction and more time to ourselves.

Went for happy hour oysters. Oysters were great. Service was absolutely HORRIBLE. I was in the service industry for years so my review doesn’t come from diners who don’t understand the business. It’s sad actually. Because I want to see this place succeed but I will be very surprised if it lasts. There is WAY too much competition in Birmingham to slack in service. Your food could be the best in town but with bad service, It will never last. Sorry. And something has to be really bad for me to write a bad review. I understand busy nights and other things but that was not the case here.

Worst fried seafood in Birmingham. Food was also sent out cold. French fries were obviously wilting under infra red for a while. My oyster plate had only 5 greasy small oysters. Gumbo was probably left in the steam table all day, just a cooked out slurry with cheap tiny Pacific shrimp. Nobody has a clue in this place about even mediocre levels of quality and service. Waste of time and money. I’ve had good meals in their restaurant in Mobile. This restaurant is pure amateur hour.

Honestly, I was disappointed in the food quality. The chargrilled oysters were very small so at $2/oyster very disappointing. The baked potato was undercooked and, while not the reason I went there, it was bad. The marinated crab claws apparently had been marinating way too long and even the tea was a bit off. However, the fried shrimp was very good and the bacon scallops were also good. Our bill was $134 (before tip) for three people and I would prefer other seafood places in town at that price. On a positive note the waiter and service were very solid. Will hesitate before coming here again.

The food wasn’t hot. A few people complained theirs were cool. Hush puppies were burnt. Me personally, I didn’t complain, fearing what they may do back in the kitchen. My bill was $75 without the tip. My lady and I, only enjoyed the salads and crab claws. The “JO Plate. ” Wasn’t what we expected.

Kind of feel like I’m in an AT&T commercial. It’s just okay. I got there before 6pm, and ordered a dozen raw oysters at the happy hour rate. They were pretty good, but small. I understand that happens sometimes. I ordered the Redfish Bienville to go. The taste was okay, but the bigger disappointment was there was no rice. The menu stated that it is served over Cajun rice. I guess I should have checked before leaving because it really could have used the rice.

I had an oyster po boy. It and the sides were all good and for a good price. Service was slow considering the number of empty tables around us. That was my first time to eat there. Others in my party say that was an off day for them. Would definitely go back.

Waitress was very attitudinal when we were seated. Not provided any silverware. When two of our party’s salad arrived, we had to ask for silverware. When she returned with two sets, we reminded her we needed two more and additional attitude was displayed. Our food took a while to be delivered to our table. The fourth member of our party wasn’t served until the three of us were almost done with our entrees.

The service is worse than sloooww! Non-existent! We went in a couple of weeks ago. There were about 1/2 of the tables open. We got a seat, and I guess that when I asked to be moved from the area of the restroom, the host forgot about us. After 10 minutes, with no one checking on us, I got up to get my wife a cup of water. The bartender was very nice, but she could not get us waited on! After 10 more minutes of being ignored, we left! This was the second time we had been treated like beggars. No service, no nothing.
