Picked up some excellent (very reasonably priced) Portuguese bread loaf earlier today.

Will drop by for some additional breads to take away tomorrow too.

Good service!

Curiously, was told not to take pictures inside the store, even when I mentioned that I will pit up a Google review – of their excellent breads. My son in law, who had accompanied me shared a couple he had taken inside the establishment

Obrigada!! For the excellent breads.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Deeply Disappointed and Insulted Experience

I drove all the way from New Jersey to Massachusetts while on a work trip, and made it a point to visit this Portuguese bakery. My grandparents were Portuguese, and growing up they would always bring home linguiça and Portuguese cheese from their trips to Portugal — I haven’t had those flavors in over 20 years, so this visit meant a lot to me.

Unfortunately, I have never been treated so poorly in my life. When I went to pay, I was told they only accept cash — which would’ve been fine had it been listed anywhere on their website or signage (it wasn’t). What truly upset me wasn’t their cash-only policy, but the way I was spoken to. Rather than politely explaining or offering a solution, the woman behind the counter spoke to me with complete disregard, as if I were a burden or a thief. She coldly told me to “go to the bank,” with no empathy or basic courtesy, even after I explained that I had driven over an hour to find a Portuguese bakery that reminded me of home.

It was a humiliating and disheartening experience. For a place that represents Portuguese tradition — something that should feel warm, proud, and welcoming — I left feeling the exact opposite.

I hope the owners read this and realize that kindness and hospitality cost nothing, and that every customer who walks through the door has a story.

I’ve been going here for 25 years. The customer service and the quality of baked goods never disappoints. Love the Portuguese rolls and their Pasteis. Always love me some Pasteis for a trip down memory lane to when I visited Portugal!

A small local bakery with affordable breads and cookies.

Came in to try some cookies and pastries recommended by the locals. Most of the small cookies that I got didn’t taste freshly baked, and the pasteis was also not as good as some people described. As a matter of fact, they were similar to what you could get at the bakery aisles in grocery stores. On the other hand, the large chocolate chip cookie was superb. This was understandable given that they were understaffed, but I wouldn’t recommend getting the small cookies that are sold by the pound.

Cash only, great egg tarts, and the Portuguese sweet bread loaf is actually less sweet than in Rhode Island, and rectangle loaves (vs round). I definitely prefer this, but am much closer to PVD. 100% worth a visit!!

It is so nice to see something actually from my child hood still around this over priced gentrified city. The bread is incredible, and the service is always great. I wish there were more staples like this still around in the Ville.
