I ordered the Avocado Toast with their new bruschetta spin. Unfortunately, it didn’t have nearly enough balsamic, so it mostly tasted like avocado and tomato piled on top without much contrast or depth of flavor. A little more balsamic would’ve really brought it together.
The fried potatoes that came with it, though, were excellent — well-seasoned and cooked perfectly. They were crispy without being burnt and not soggy at all, which can be hard to get right.
I also had the Steak Benedict. The steak itself was cooked perfectly and had a great texture, but the seasoning on the eggs slightly overpowered the natural flavor of the steak. Still, it was a solid dish overall. I added a pancake on the side, and it was huge — definitely good bang for my buck. I even took leftovers home, and everything reheated really well.
The highlight of the visit was our server, April. She had a great attitude, always had a smile, and made the experience that much better. Great service goes a long way!
45 minutes later, we were seated. A few patrons we held the door for while waiting to be seated had enough time to wait a few minutes to be seated, got sat, drinks ordered, ate, and were on their way out before we even got to sit down. They even made a comment that we’re were still waiting.
Moving on, we got seated, and sat there for another 10 minutes without any acknowledgement for drink orders, or even to let us know who our wait staff was. We ended up getting up, and walking out. On the way out, one of the staff asked if everything was ok. We said no, and stated we were on to a different establishment due to these compiled issues.
We chose here over waffle house due to quality, and what we figured was less of a wait. Topping on the experience, beside our kids being hungry, was the attitude we got on the way out by who I assumed was wait staff. After asking what happened, we told them we’re were done waiting, and he says “ok?” And mumbled something else but didn’t care to listen at that point. Like dude, what? Are we offending you for us leaving due to the wait?
Anywho, maybe it was just an off day?
Either way, I’d suggest calling ahead, or reserving a table.
K thanks bye
BEN
The food was delicious. We had the Cheesey grits and the Potato Head Casserole with eggs, cooked to order.
