Reviews
The food is all incredible – we had oysters, mussel soup, various banchan dishes (kimchi, radish, potatoes, carrots, etc). They make all of their side dishes – we ordered MULTIPLE of the kimchi because it was so good.
We tried their pork belly and the rib eye steak which was grilled by the chef/owner – both of these were excellent. We also ordered spicy bulgogi, garlic bulgogi, marinated pork, and other meat options to cook on the grill ourselves. All of these were incredible – the marinates and quality of meat meant that every single dish was incredible. You could not pick incorrectly here. For those who enjoy Korean Soju – there are a number of choices to pick from – apple, peach, yogurt, etc.
The BBQs are authentic charcoal BBQs which adds to the experience and flavour of the meat. This does mean you sit outside, but the patio is heated and cozy – even on a chilly winter day, this was not an issue for us.
We were tended to regularly by our wonderful server, Tessa. We were told she was a new server, but she was so attentive we would have never guessed she was new if she hadn’t told us! She was great at keeping drinks filled and ensuring our eating area was kept clear of used plates. She was also really fun and we enjoyed having her as our server!
This was not a cheap meal but for the quality of the food and the attentiveness of both the owner and our server, this was well worth it. We will definitely return with more of our friends and family. Highly recommend.
There’s actual love and passion put into the food and service here, and I’d recommend you try it at LEAST once simply for the experience. Me and my friends had a really great time, and this is one place I’ll definitely miss in Niagara.
The first picture shows a pork belly AYCE dish. It comes raw because it is cooked at the table. Second picture shows some of the desserts.
We decided to try this restaurant even though the pricing felt quite high, especially with a mandatory 15% tip that is charged on both the food price and the tax, which I found unreasonable.
We were seated at their outdoor patio. The patio decorations fits just like the one I had in Korea and it was cozy and well-insulated even though it was 0°C outside, and the girl server greeted us warmly. The owner (aka the chef) came over to welcome us as well, which we appreciated.
However, throughout the meal, the owner repeatedly emphasized that his restaurant is “authentic,” mentioned several times that they have over 1,000 Google reviews with a 4.7 rating, and stressed the “luxury” of certain items. He also frequently brought up pricing, including that some steak items are limited “or the restaurant will go bankrupt.” It felt like the focus was more on money and Google reviews than on letting the food speak for itself, which made the experience uncomfortable.
As for the food, we loved their cooked food more than their meat. We had the chef special mussels soup and the seafood pancakes that we personally love a lot. The grilled mussel and shrimp tasted good but can be a little over seasoned. The meats we ordered were fresh and prepared with care, and overall the quality felt more on the premium side compared to other Korean BBQ places we’ve tried. That said, the “premium steak” didn’t taste particularly exceptional—more like something you could find at many other restaurants.
Dessert, however, was not served in the best way. One of the items was a frozen cream puff from Costco, but it was brought out completely rock-hard and difficult to eat at first. I understand that cream puffs can’t be microwaved (it even says so on the Costco box), but a quick air fry would have made it much easier to enjoy. When I shared this feedback, the owner insisted it was supposed to be fully frozen because it’s “ice cream,” and explained they can’t prepare ahead since they don’t know when customers will arrive. I found this explanation unexpected, as serving food at a reasonable temperature is something a chef should manage regardless of timing.
Finally, when we were checking out, the owner insisted that we leave two five-star reviews because we had two people in our party. I told him I prefer to take my time and leave an honest review later. He then brought up how a group of six from yesterday promised six reviews but he didn’t see the 6 reviews today, and that he was disappointed. This felt inappropriate and pressured—reviews should be voluntary and reflect genuine experiences, not something rushed or demanded.
Overall, while the food quality was decent, the constant emphasis on reviews and pricing, the mandatory tip on top of tax, and several uncomfortable interactions made the experience less enjoyable than it should have been.
The Chef is amazing – kind, attentive, and took the time to explain the whole process of marinating and smoking the meat, as well as sharing a bit of the story behind it.
We tried the AYCE experience, and at first the price may seem a little high, but it really reflects the quality of the food and the care that goes into every step.
Definitely a place worth revisiting whenever possible!
