I found a taste of heaven when I found this gem. The owner is amazing. The bread is fresh and homemade in her coney sauce is to die for.!! I first I was able to eat a foot-long, which are amazing but now I can only eat a regular however you have to try a foot long with coney sauce. ❤️ ✨Let’s not forget the homemade pies and cakes! Yummy!!

There are not enough words to describe how Amazingly Wonderful Wanda’s desserts are at ” Whistlestop Deli” !! She has a ” gift ” when it comes to cake frosting that will have you wanting to ” Treat ” yourself quite often !!
The sandwiches at the Whistlestop are also very delicious and always fresh . I have yet to try their catered dinners, but from what I hear they are equally fantastic.
The customers’ parked cars ALWAYS found in front of the Deli shows how popular this little Jewel is in the Unicoi area. For those visiting here, if you happen to be nearby during their business hours……consider it Your Lucky Day… and go inside. You WILL be Glad you Did !!!

Wow. This place was INCREDIBLE! We thought it was gonna be just a quick easy hole in the wall place after hiking the Appalachian Trail and boy were we wrong! We walked in and the whole place smelled incredible. The lovely lady working there said it was her BBQ and showed us the menu. We didn’t even have to look, we got the BBQ with mac n cheese and baked beans plus the little chocolate covered balls are their version of mounds candy bars I may have left a little of my soul at this little place in TN.

Wow – this place is everything! The food is amazing!!! The BBQ was fantastic. The desserts are so good. And the homemade rolls are amazing – soft and delicious inside with a wonderful crust on the outside. And the service was the cherry on top – friendly and kind. Soooooo good.

The food is always delicious Everytime we go, well worth the money which is not bad at all considering the HUGE portion you get. The scenery is beautiful, there is a covered patio and a open patio with a bathroom. We HIGHLY recommend Whistle Stop ….. Also tried their chocolate pie which is he made btw ….. Located in the heart of Unicoi, the Whistle Stop is the place to go! It has delicious hoagies, sandwiches and wraps -you never know which one to pick because of how great it is!
My favorite is the Philly cheesesteak and the pastrami sandwich which are coated well with seasonings and condiments. They have plenty of sides (chips, salads,etc.)They have a great beverage selection (sweet tea, Dr. Enuf and Pepsi products). The outdoor area is beautiful and well kept. I recommend coming here if you want an affordable and filling meal in East Tennessee!
