Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Haven’t been to Whataburger in years. My pregnant fiance wanted a burger. Drove here and it was delicious. The young guy up front taking orders was very polite. Food was hot and good. Restaurant was very clean.

Driving home to TX from Oklahoma we had the delightful experience to visit Whataburger in Gilmer TX. I was so famished, looked at the clock in the car and freaked out when it said 10:30, just knowing that when I arrived in the store that the clerk was going to tell me that they are no longer serving breakfast. In my haste, I quickly ask do you all serve breakfast all day. She said no, and before I could lose my mind, she smiled and said but we do sale breakfast until 11AM. I was so happy.
Ms. Angel was her name, and she quickly became my angel. She was so sweet, welcoming, kind, and helped me to remain calm while ordering even assisting in the ordering process, because I had been craving a cinnamon roll. But now what in the world was I going to order for meat without a side of bacon or sausage. Well, I ended up ordering the cinnamon roll which she heated (oh my goodness it was delicious) with some Whatawings…which was hot and fresh and in a nice container, along with a cup of coffee (which wasn’t exactly hot or fresh but it served it’s purpose..smiles).
During our stay while sitting in the lobby eating Ms. Angel never stopped moving, she was wiping down counters, wiping all the tables, then quickly went to get me a lid for my coffee and bag for my left-over food. I simply cannot say enough good things about her. She should get employee of the month, or spot bonus, or something to let her know that we as patrons and customers sincerely appreciate her efforts. Thank you, Ms. Angel.

Joann working the window is very snarky on the intercom, talks too fast to understand, does not take down orders correctly, does not make eye contact, and genuinely seems annoyed with her job duties. In my opinion, she does not represent the Whataburger franchise well. I wish people took more pride in their jobs these days.

I know the crew members were just listening to the directions of their managers, but this Whataburger experience falls very short of the Whataburger standard. The server was going from car to car trying to figure out which order was which; the organization was horrible. Finally got my order and my fries were cold. Burger, although it was hot, had so much seasoning on it, I would not finish it. Totally a waster of my $11. Do better peeps.

The food here is good, just like any other Whataburger but it took a long time and it was FIFTEEN DOLLARS FOR A REGULAR MEAL! This isn’t some kind of nice sitdown restaurant, this is Whataburger. Most other locations are at least $3 less so there’s no excuse for this.

Mich better than before. This place is so clean and neat. I love how they arranged all the area where you can comfortably eat your yummy burger. The French fries were cooked, nice color and taste. My burger was very delicious, had a good flavor, taste and color. The meat was good cooked. The staff was friendly. I recommend this fast food place.

Drive through lane at 10:30pm took 20 minutes to process the 5 cars infront of me and an additional 10 minutes for me to get from placing my order to leaving with food. I stopped here to get a quick bite and caffine pick up on the drive home, but I could have been home in the time I waited. I’ve been to whataburger late night, even on holidays, and never waited anywhere near this long. Sign out front says dining room closed for renovation so the only part of the business operating is the drive through and its this slow? No apologies from the staff either.
