Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

When I opened my burger, the lettuce did not look fresh — it was yellow, which was disappointing. The onion slices were also inconsistent in size, with some very small pieces and others quite large. I know the employees are preparing food according to instructions, but management should ensure better quality ingredients, as yellow lettuce affects both taste and presentation.
I don’t like to compare, but competitors like In-N-Out use fresh, vibrant, and consistently cut lettuce, which makes a noticeable difference.
I went to this whataburger on 12-27-2025 Time 4:00pm I asked for two whataburger sweet and spicy bacon burger meal and a kids meals with chicken tenders I politely asked for hot fries on my order I get down the street my fries are all cold and I noticed that the young Hispanic guy that fixed them have me half filled fries for my orders at I seen all the other fries had more fries and they were setting up already prepped cooked cold he gave me lesser fries that had been setting under the warmer for awhile so I checked my burgers and they didn’t have what I asked for the sweet and spicy sauce wasn’t on my burgers my burgers was dry my grandbaby chicken tender was cold, hard and dry his cookie was smashed he tossed the food on the floor which was a waste of money my husband and I just came from the hospital which we had been there since 8am we decided to stop by and get us a fresh hot meal because we always eat here this Hispanic young boy was new I had never seen him before when we usually come it’s always two other guys who has great customers service I don’t know what’s going on but this new crew is not following directions they need a manager because they are throwing anything out to the customers and it’s unfair I was upset and just took a picture of one burger the fries and tender was thrown in the trash can I have enclosed one of the burgers and how dry it was both of my burgers was like this my husband was so hungry he just ate his burger why pay for what you want but don’t get what you ordered this is unacceptable and I feel that corporate should check into this the youth who are cooking the food need a supervisor at all times I’m very disappointed in my customer service the cashier was sweet and respectful.
When called the manager about it he argued with me about everything and kept talking down/over me.
This guy was just being super mean super rude to me for simply just existing in the world. So I went off and I let him have it! I WILL NOT BULLIED! I will no longer spend my money with this location. Teach yalls COOKS how to be respectful to Transgender People!
I ordered a Cobb Salad with extra chicken to take to work but received a regular Garden Salad with no eggs, cheese, or bacon. Mistakes happen, of course, but when I called to inform the store, Michelle, the managing partner, told me I would need to return to the restaurant to have it corrected or to receive a refund.
I completely understand that policy when dining in, but since I had already taken the order to work, returning wasn’t practical. It was frustrating to feel like there was no reasonable solution—either eat the incorrect order or go without lunch and come back later for it to be fixed correctly or refund. This experience was disappointing, especially coming from management at a location I’ve always liked and recommended!!
It was clear that the young staff members working there need stronger leadership and better training. The lack of communication and accountability was noticeable, and the overall experience fell far below the standard I expect from Whataburger.
I hope the management team takes steps to improve customer service and better support their employees moving forward.
