It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Good, but inconsistent. The staff is unfailingly pleasant, but the service is usually slow. Also, we have errors on most custom orders with more than one sandwich. 2 of the 3 burgers we got on our last visit were wrong even after repeating the order more than once. Nice folks, but the service is hit or miss.

I like Whataburger, always have. Among the fast food giants, Whataburger stands out to me for having better burgers than most. We actually don’t have them anywhere near where I live, so when visiting family in the area I try to go each time. Their service has been great as well. On our most recent visit, two of my kids ordered burgers and both of them opened the wrappers only to be disappointed that they forgot to ask for no mustard. They took both burgers back and remade them exactly how the kids wanted them – no hesitation, no questions asked. They brought the new burgers out to the table quickly and served them with a smile. Unexpected from a fast food restaurant but I was very pleasantly surprised. Look forward to visiting again next time I’m in town.

Hunter, who was working the register inside, was super friendly and always has a smile on his face. The food was good as usual. I did have to wait a few extra minutes for a fresh, hot chicken breast for my sandwich, but fresh is always worth it.

Horrible, actually down right sad … Since I used to be an employee and have always been a fan of the food we offered to take my brother whom just moved from Vermont. Bad decision honestly … My chicken bites were burnt and hard like rocks so I couldn’t even bite into them. I also wasnt given any dipping sauce after I ask the worker four times. My onion rings were also burnt so much so that they also had to tossed, not only mine but my fiance’s as well. My brothers burger was even made wrong and the burger patty wasn’t chewable. We felt so bad since he was really looking forward to this, but it has just ruined it for use all though I think, since sadly the whole order was terribly made. That isn’t even the worst part though. The service was even even worse then the food!!!!! The crew acted as if they didn’t care about anything but the conversation they were having before we walked in the door. They all kept complaining openly about what we ordered and about having to work. I think this was by far the worst service we have ever been given at a restaurant, well anywhere for that matter. On top of the terrible food, their service was just down right sad, the girl behind the counter kept making rude remarks about us eating there and wouldn’t listen to what we were trying to order. Saying awful things as well as she complained about having to serve us and that she would not take our order if we ever came back. As if this wasn’t rude enough, they bagged our meal even though we wanted to dine in, guess they were hoping we would just leave. We even heard a few of them make prejudice remarks about not wanting us white folks to come back and that we ask for to much. We were made to feel so unwelcome we took our meal out to the tables they have set up outside and tried to enjoy what we could of the trip. This was until till we tried our meals only to find we had waisted over $30 and about an hour or so of our time. Usually wouldn’t complain and definitely not picky but had to share this. So to all please be forwarded before taking the risk. This is not a good place at all anymore.

For a fast food chain I was impressed with the quality of the food and efficient service. I was at Wendy’s next door and they were having a meltdown so I went next door to Whataburger. I was served quickly. I got the patty melt and had them add jalapeños. Very good and spicy.

I decided to go to Whataburger for the first time. It was the best experience I’ve ever had at any food place! The staff brings you the food, checks up on you, talks to you, overall superb staff, very friendly. Food was delicious, and took them less than 10 minutes to make an order for my whole family. Would always recommend this place, great staff, great food, and a real at home feel in the restaurant.

Food is ok, but service could be seriously improved. Always seems like there’s a wait for food even when there’s no one else in line. One time when it was night and I was looking for something to eat I stopped at this Whataburger and was the ONLY person in line and they got my order wrong. It seems like every time we go through the drive through it takes forever to get our order. Just wish they could be more of a fast fast food restaurant.
