I had the cheeseburger and it was good. The burger was cooked a little more for my liking, but the menu did say medium-well, and that’s what it was. I felt the grilled onions should have been cooked a little more, but I enjoyed them.

First time in the my life ever writing a google review, was and have been extremely disappointed with this place. Tried it multiple times and multiple food items, food sucks! I get that it’s a great location and virtually the only place to eat in west Ames but it is worth driving somewhere else. It’s probably an okay bar atmosphere and the folks that work there are very nice and attentive but man that place should just quite selling food entirely. Maybe if the food was cheaper I’d feel differently. The overhead on the location is probably why the price is so high for the nearly inedible food…

Was there yesterday around 4:15 I cannot believe what I saw. Definitely poor service for sure. Me and my boyfriend sat at the bar. While we’re sitting there we saw that the food was sitting there for about 15 minutes before the waitress came to pick it up. It definitely was not busy there at all. The waitress was sitting next to us with all her friends playing trivia smoking her e-cigarette inside with her other friends. She finally got up to give them their food and then she just went and sat back down by her. The bartender sack she wasn’t engaged with us at all she was hanging out with them. How to call her over three different times just so we could pay your tab to leave we were going to go there to eat but after seeing everything that was going on I cannot believe it. There was one good waitress there that tried to get the other waitresses attention that was playing trivia but she said nothing to her when she tried to get her attention.. west Towne pub has gone down hill

Had a lot of fun talking with the locals here. Had a good selection of ales. Staff were helpful and polite. Avoid the brownie for dessert!! This must be a cool place to visit as I am back here during during week 2 of my visit to the area. Found the Caribean burger last time, and I just ordered it again. So pleasantly surprised to find such nice folks who actually want to chat about all sorts of stuff .

Long story short- went there for lunch today. Server was unpersonable and rude when we asked about our order. 2 sandwiches took 45 mins to get to our table in an empty restaurant. My guess is she forgot to put in our order (even though she said she checked on our order- clearly she did not.) Never checked on us after food came. Never asked about a refills- laid the food down and never came back or said another word to us.

I ordered the boneless wings. They are surprisingly not fried. But also surprisingly delicious??? I got their house special sauce which is a garlic parm with a kick. Cheese curds are fire. Bartender is fire. Will be back!

Had the Black and Blue Burger, fries, and cheese things. The burger was excellent. The Patty was perfectly cooked and salty. The fries are steak fry style. They were crispy and good. And the cheese curds or balls or whatever they call them were yummy. We will definitely go there again. Our server was great, too!

None of the food will wow you away per se, but it is good enough to be worth it, and they have some fun menu ideas – such as those sweet corn bites (which I enjoyed.) I suppose the tradeoff for such a large menu would be the quality after all. They have outdoor seating, and the service speed and quality was good.
