Pulled into the drive-thru, had three of their biggie bags ordered The smaller one I got three of and then I got one of their bigger bags. Got to the window and paid which was fine pulled up which they asked me to park I waited 25 minutes for the food to come out. I watched seven cars get their food and drive away finally got my food. The fries were the only thing that were hot in that bag The burgers were cold and the nuggets didn’t seem fresh. Definitely will not be back there.

If a negative one was possible I would give that. Service was awful. Nobody greeted me when I walked inside and didn’t say anything to me at all through the out the entire time I was in there even when handing me my food. The food was terrible—cinnamon pull apart was like Concrete and the honey chicken croissant top bun was also concrete. Super discourage. I don’t usually stop in Brookings on my way to Sioux Falls, and will avoid in future if possible. It’s too bad because the store itself is nice.

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Culinary Atrocities at Wendy’s – Immediate Intervention Requested

Dear Esteemed Officials,

I, [Redacted for Dignity], submit this most urgent and solemn complaint regarding the complete and utter failure of Wendy’s – 1234 Elm St to uphold any semblance of gastronomic, aesthetic, or ceremonial standards. This correspondence is submitted under the presumption that the U.S. government maintains at least a minimal interest in safeguarding the public from egregious offenses against culinary decency.

1. Failure to Provide a Valet or Red Carpet Reception
Upon arrival at the premises, I was confronted with a shocking lack of red carpet or ceremonial escort. No valet. No doorman. No trumpets heralding my entrance. I was forced to park my vehicle like a commoner and approach the establishment on foot. Such negligence constitutes not merely poor customer service but a flagrant violation of expected dignity protocols.

2. Absence of Proper Reception and Concierge Services
Instead of a host or maître d’ capable of guiding me through an elaborate, curated dining experience, I was confronted with a touchscreen kiosk. This technological barbarism is unworthy of a nation that prides itself on culinary excellence. I demand to know if the Department has jurisdiction over touchscreen-induced trauma.

3. The Baconator Incident – A Crime Against Taste and Humanity
I ordered the “Baconator,” expecting a dish worthy of a 5-star tasting menu. Instead, I received a paper-wrapped approximation of sustenance, wherein the bacon lay flat, the cheese exhibited zero structural integrity, and the beef patty displayed no artistry, no provenance, no visible evidence of emotional investment in its preparation. This is not merely negligence; this is a full-scale offense against the standards of haute cuisine.

4. Fry Presentation – A National Tragedy
The accompanying fries were served in a flimsy cardboard vessel — a device entirely inadequate for dignified consumption. I am aware that the United States has not codified “fry presentation standards” in federal law, but I submit that this omission is now a crisis requiring immediate regulatory intervention.

5. Beverage Catastrophe
My accompanying beverage, a Sprite, arrived without garnish, artisanal ice, or any acknowledgment of beverage sophistication. I consider this an act of passive-aggressive hostility against the very concept of beverage enjoyment.

6. Environmental Neglect
The lighting was fluorescent, the seating ergonomically insulting, and the acoustics dominated by the industrial beeps of fryers rather than live orchestral accompaniment. The absence of linen, candles, or even tasteful décor constitutes a public hazard to aesthetic sensibilities.

7. Formal Demand for Remediation
I hereby request that the United States government:
• Immediately require Wendy’s to employ a culinary concierge, fry sommelier, and beverage presentation director at every location.
• Mandate the installation of valet services, red carpets, and ceremonial entrance protocols.
• Require that all sandwiches be presented under silver cloches, accompanied by a chef’s narrative describing provenance, terroir, and flavor architecture.
• Institute a live musical program with at least one harpist or string quartet at all peak hours.
• Replace all paper packaging with ethically sourced porcelain and gold-plated cutlery.
• Establish a federal dress code: black tie required for entry, with proper etiquette enforced.
• Ensure all fries are personally inspected by a “fry inspector” for optimal crispness, salinity, and aesthetic arrangement.

8. Statement of Harm
I have suffered extreme emotional, aesthetic, and sensory trauma. My dignity has been irreparably compromised. My faith in fast-casual dining has been shaken to its core. These transgressions are so severe that a single star review does not capture the gravity of the offense, yet it is all I can justly award. ⭐

We visited Wendy’s recently and had a confusing experience with the new automated drive-thru while picking up a mobile order. We had parked to place our order and add a birthday Frosty, but we didn’t realize we needed to select the flavor before checking out. When we fixed it, our card had to be reset and re-entered, which took a few minutes. At the drive-thru, we were still trying to understand what to do when the manager reprimanded us for holding up the line — even though there was no one behind us until moments before. It was an uncomfortable experience. I hope the store provides clearer instructions and patience for customers learning a new system.

How horrible! Super cold fries! Old nuggets!!! This place should shut down just like the restaurant that was there before it! How hard is it to make fries and nuggets?!?!?

Definitely not fast food. Waited 24 minutes for a Baconator, Large fries, 6 piece chicken nuggets, and a small fry. Literally my wife and oldest daughter ordered separate from my youngest daughter and I by 1 minute and they got there food and were 20 minutes down the road before we got ours.

Went there for lunch around 12:30 on Saturday. They weren’t that busy inside (we were going to dine in) had to use the kiosk. Not super user-friendly but manageable. Order went in at 12:34 at 12:52 we were still waiting. When I asked about the order they said the burger still needed to be cooked. We had orded a chicken nugget meal and one burger meal. At that point I asked for a refund. Got our refund and left.

First off, usually we go through drive through, so we decided to dine in. Except we couldn’t find a single clean table and the drink station was filthy. Our food took forever, the four people working there were confused, except for one staff trying to figure things out for all stations to make up for the utter apathy in the other staff. At one point she ran out the door thinking a second car might be there but it was the guy who ordered ahead of us INSIDE, still waiting, while we were trying to get lids for the small and kid cups. The other family there had to ask at the pickup for their kid cups too. (We didn’t jump the gun, we all waited until they called our number, shoved food at us but walked away so fast we had to wait to get them to finish the orders with the kid cups and then the lids separately.) The third disappeared from the drive through while we were there, and I could see someone was cooking. So there was four people, we walked in just after 6 with no rush in sight, just one guy ahead of us and a few ordering at the same time or after we’d been waiting. My burger was COLD. Stone freaking cold. I’ve never tried the baked potatoes before so maybe this is normal but the tray was grayish on the inside and it tasted like yesterday’s socks. We ordered via kiosk (best part of the experience) but didn’t receive our receipt with our food which we are supposed to according to the kiosk. The whole thing took almost 40 minutes.

I’m not the type to leave a bad review after every experience. And we’ve had other very poor experiences there. We just stop going awhile and then try again. This was the final straw. I get we’re in a dip for hiring in our college town, but we’re pretty sure there was four not three staff and not a huge drive through rush, no Doordash. However this was so disgusting and disappointing, and we really do like the food and prices (Biggie Bags rock!) when it works out. Full disclosure: my husband went through the drive thru to bring me lunch at work today. He said it was different people and while they made a small mistake, the food was great. He’d not gotten any for himself, so we’d gone back to tonight and I thought I’d try something new. Smh.

Very awkward experience, doors were locked for inside. Went through drive through and they take your money and send all drive through orders to wait in parking lot. Wasn’t busy at all. Sent all drive through to park and wait in parking lot. Extremely unusual
