This place just keeps going more down hill. Last 3 times we have been there our fries have come out cold. Asked for a receipt and the lady at the window said the whole store ran out of receipt paper. So we asked for a manager to get the receipt and she magically came back with our receipt and slammed the window when my wife said thank you. On top of that our burgers had tomato and we asked for none.

The saddest part of all is, every time we have went they aren’t even busy. Not a single other car in the drive thru. So getting fresh fries and walking to get the receipt paper should not be an issue. Sorry we made you do your job. This screams pure laziness. I leave good reviews and only leave bad ones after multiple bad experiences because I understand everyone can have a bad day. Hopefully you guys get it together because the wife and I love Wendy’s but sadly I see them slowly fading. Places like culvers are coming in and taking over and good service is definitely the reason for it. They provide excellent service. Wish we could say the same about our hometown favorite :/ think we are done coming here at least in Vandalia.

Place is a dump. Hard to turn into from the road, parking on a down hill, no changing table in family restrooms, no trash receptacles outside, entrance was muddy, and didn’t accept card, was cash only. Do better.

The manager on duty was very friendly along with the team members. The restaurant was clean. The food came out at a good temperature. This is good Wendy’s location to visit. One of us had a loaded baked potato, and one of us had a junior cheese deluxe with a small chili. Both were great.

Took 3-4 mins for someone to show up to the register despite it being deserted (I was told the other two people there weren’t allowed to use the register)… paid $6 for 2 sodas and both were completely flat.

Waited a solid 10 to 15 minutes for food with nobody in the drive-thru or inside. The food was fresh but the time it took was disappointing.

We stopped at this Wendy’s location after a late flight. The staff was welcoming and the food was served quickly and everything was prepared as ordered.

Excellent service, excellent food! This Wendy’s always serves up a generous helping of friendliness and smiles to go with the hot and freshly cooked fare.
***The dining room is open!! ***
It’s neat and tidy, ready for we customers to enjoy. If you’re heading to or from Dayton international Airport, or just heading through town, do stop by Wendy’s to enjoy an exceptional team and excellent food!

I don’t usually write reviews for fast food, but the burger I got at the Wendy’s in Vandalia deserves serious recognition. From the very first bite, I could tell — this wasn’t just put together by some new hire or someone going through the motions. This burger tasted like it was made by a Wendy’s veteran. And not just any veteran — I’m talking about someone who’s been behind that grill for 40 years. Someone who’s seen every menu change, every uniform update, and still shows up with pride in their craft.
That burger was made with the kind of precision you can’t teach in a training video. The patty had a perfect sear — just enough crisp on the edges to give it texture, while the inside stayed juicy, flavorful, and warm all the way through. It was like every second on the grill had been timed by instinct, not a timer. The seasoning was subtle but deep, like it had been passed down over decades of lunchtime rushes and dinner shifts.
And the way the toppings were arranged — not slapped on, but placed. The bun was warm, soft, and held together from the first bite to the last. Nothing slid around, nothing fell apart. This burger had balance. It felt like the work of someone who doesn’t just make food — they take pride in it. Honestly, it felt like they’d been mastering the Wendy’s burger since 1985 and still gave it everything they had.
For a moment, I was taken straight back to 1989. The flavor, the texture, the care — it brought back memories of a time when fast food still had personality. When burgers didn’t just fill you up — they left an impression.
And let me also give credit to the woman working the drive-thru. She was incredibly kind, clear, and pleasant — the kind of voice that makes you feel welcome before you even pull up to the window. She double-checked the order, made small talk, and handed everything over with a genuine smile. That level of service just added to the feeling that this wasn’t a throwaway meal — this was made by people who still care about what they do.
Whoever made that burger deserves a raise, a handshake, and maybe even a plaque. You don’t stay that consistent and that good for four decades without loving what you do. If you find yourself near Vandalia, stop in — and hope the veteran behind the grill is working. You’ll taste the difference.

This morning we ordered a breakfast baconator and it was awful. We received it and the bread was old, hard, and falling apart. The patty was charred and gross. It tasted like they were premade and kept in a warmer or popped in the microwave. We couldn’t even finish our meals. Very disappointed.
