This is such an excellent little bakery. They offer both savory and sweet items. The staff recommendation is breakfast burritos for savory. For sweet, you can’t go wrong. I personally love the chicken salad and the kale salad. They are known for their mountain eclairs. If you’re coming from Tennessee, it’s I-26 exit 18 of interstate 26.

First visit. Went in to see if I could find something sweet to eat. Was hoping for cake of some sort. Procured one slice each of fudge chocolate cake and carrot cake. Both were very good. Carrot cake had proper amount of moisture, but could have the icing being a little thicker in quantity. Icing seemed a bit skimpy to my tastes.

The interior of this cafe is bright and airy, in an older building that has been beautifully restored. The pastry and dessert case was beautifully stocked, although we stopped in at breakfast time so we didn’t partake of any of the sweets. The coffee took a little while, but was well worth the wait. My vanilla latte was sweeter than I personally like, but I should have asked for half sweet, knowing that they could always add more syrup. The slice of bacon cheddar quiche was good, but a bit dry after reheating. I would definitely stop back by next time I’m in Weaverville and pick up some pastries or cake to try!

I have been traveling to and buying treats from Well-Bred for many, many years and they never disappoint! This last trip, we went to Asheville for lunch and on the way home, we of course had to stop at Well-Bred for dessert. I had the pistachio cream cake and my husband had the strawberry blueberry cream cake. Both were delicious and service was impeccable. We were so stuffed that we forgot to buy treats to bring home and are still kicking ourselves for that. If you are anywhere near Weaverville, I highly recommend Well-Bred for a treat or two or three!

Absolutely delicious bakery! The line was long but I hardly had to wait (5 minutes tops). Staff was friendly and the pastry case was so delectable and filled to the brim. I ordered the Aztec mocha latte, molasses cookie, chocolate chip macaroon, walnut coffee cake, and apricot rugula! Delicious and can’t wait to return

The seasonal coffee was delicious. The shortbread cookie was good as well as the eclair, truffle and espresso roulade. Staff was mostly friendly.. wait time is the only thing that lost a star.
