We are located in the heart of Homer on Beluga Lake. Specializing in family style, shareable bites, alongside a great selection of beer and wine.

We were met with efficient service, great views, lots of drink options-both alcoholic and non alcoholic, and incredible thoughtful tasty dishes! We will be returning over and over.

The rhubarb spritz was refreshing and the shrimp dish was so flavorful. As a local I hope to see additional tapas options/a rotating menu, or maybe even specials. What a wonderful stop and a great addition to the area.

Tried out Water Rudders and loved it! Cozy spot with gorgeous views of the floatplanes and Beluga Lake. The focaccia bread was a must, the halibut cheek was rich and flavorful (perfect with that bread), and the scallops with butternut squash, pancetta, and apple were a total standout. We also enjoyed the elk albóndigas and fingerling potatoes, and ended with the Basque cheesecake topped with rhubarb—so good! Unique flavors, hearty tapas, and great vibes. Definitely worth a visit!

Highly recommend ! We had the fingerling potatoes, the shrimp, and the warm bread. Everything was cooked perfect and well seasoned, and the bread had a crunch that topped it. The service was fast, friendly, welcoming and accommodating. If you’re in the area stop by, they won’t disappoint!

This is one of the best meals I’ve had in my life. We ate here back in July. My wife and I have eaten at highly rated restaurants all over the world, and this is a meal we keep talking about. Everything is served tapas style in these little skillets and cooked to perfection. We started with a small order and ended up ordering everything on the menu. The ell meatballs are seriously to die for. Homer, AK is an amazing place to visit, and this will be a highlight when I come back.

By far the best place I’ve eaten on my entire Alaska trip. This has Michelin Star status cuisine. If I could give 10 stars I would! Added bonus is the view!

We had a wonderful dinner at Water Rudders. The food was excellent. The location on the water at Beluga Lake with float planes coming and going was a perfect Alaska setting. I hope you discovered this hidden gem.

This was our first visit and we enjoyed it. The location is one of the best things, offering a view toward town that we don’t get from many other places. The lake and planes offer plenty to look at out the windows (or from the deck on a nice day). The service was also attentive and friendly.

The limited tapas menu is a fun idea. They are served in small skillets, appealing presentation and just enough for each person to get a little sample. We ordered 5 items for three people and it was about right because we were hungry for a meal. If just wanting to nibble, 2 or 3 items would be fine. We also ordered a bottle of wine. The tapas prices seemed about what you’d expect (for Homer anyway, which is always high), but the wine prices seemed especially steep. Our total bill was $175, expensive for what it was.

We did wonder if they will rotate the tapas offerings. I hope so–I’d like to see what other tasty bites they could come up with to keep people coming back.

Overall, we would recommend Water Rudders if you want to have a drink and little snack while enjoying the beautiful scenery. If you want a big meal, you’d be better off going to a full-service restaurant.
