Inside, there is plenty of space and ample seating. Hosts greet you right away, and everything feels organized and welcoming. The menu is huge, both food and drinks, with lots of fun options. From a layout and concept perspective, this place nails it.
Where this place really goes to another level is the service and atmosphere. We were so impressed that we went twice during our stay. The first night we were taken care of by Brad, who was outstanding. Funny, attentive, engaging, and just a cool guy overall. The second night we had Wilmer, and same story. Top notch service, attentive without hovering, and genuinely enjoyable.
We also made friends with the bartender, Abel, who not only made great drinks but actually stepped out from behind the bar to chat with us. That kind of interaction says a lot about the culture and management behind the scenes. When you see staff who clearly enjoy their job and translate that energy to guests, that is leadership and culture done right.
The food was great, the drinks were solid, and going back a second night confirmed it was not a one time fluke. Two nights in a row, same level of service and quality.
If I had a place like this near home, I would be there all the time. Definitely a must visit when you are in Telluride.
I ordered the Tomboy Burger, cooked perfectly to medium just as I requested, along with the seasoned fries. The fries were exactly what you hope for: a crispy exterior with a soft, pillowy inside.
Our server struck the right balance—attentive without being overbearing. Service made the experience smooth and enjoyable.
We chose to sit on the outdoor patio since the weather was beautiful, and it didn’t disappoint. The view of the changing leaves made for a great backdrop to the meal.
Yes, the food is a touch on the pricier side, but that’s to be expected in a vacation town. The portions were generous and felt well worth it.
Highly recommend Tomboy Tavern if you’re in the area.
Service wasn’t overly-impressive. Nice. But as experienced in several establishments, wait-staff doesn’t seem to be geared-up and on their game. And I get it. It’s easy and fun to hustle to meet the demands of a busy restaurant, but when there’s a lull, it’s just as easy to become distracted with co-workers while losing track of time/table visits resulting in poor service.
My wife chose the kale salad with portobello mushrooms, and she thoroughly enjoyed it; the combination of ingredients was delightful and fresh.
A special shout-out to our server, Sullenny, who was gracious and attentive throughout our meal, ensuring we had everything we needed.
Overall, Tomboy exceeded our expectations with its fantastic food and excellent service. We can’t wait to return!
