Did not expect to find such great sushi by my daughter’s music school, what a nice surprise! The Blufin hand rolls were amazing and wrapped with great technique. Fish is fresh, and they had a great selection of rolls, & ramens. The sushi rice was better than many of the places we have tried in San Diego. It had just that hint of vinegar to take it next level. Will be back for sure!

Out of the handful of times we’ve dined here once was a choking situation with a piece of sushi that fortunately was able to be prevented, and looking at it there was a long string hanging from one end. About 2 months later, most recently, between the small salmon steak and bed of lettuce, Bento box, there were several pieces of foreign objects probably plastic, one resembling a false fingernail we were lucky to spot, or didn’t bite down too hard apon. In the photos one can see the pieces would probably just pass off as being part of the salad. Had to waste much of what was left of the lunch box being we didn’t trust there weren’t more of any other objects unedible . They have good service and a nice menu but we’ve experienced food safety issues here and won’t be back. That day the chefs didn’t call out “See you tomorrow!” which isn’t funny considering a repeat guest has lost confidence in their food quality and safety. Based on our unfortunate experiences with the fare of this restaurant it might be recommended to inspect food first to make sure there’s no hazards.

Been here a few times before but it has been a while. They never disappoint! It is consistently great sushi! They are so nice and attentive as well. Even the sushi chefs acknowledge and greet you. I would highly recommend the the Dynamite and the Oceanside rolls.

Ok. Granted I haven’t gone out to eat a lot since the pandemic, but this was some of the best sushi I have had in years. Ordered like six rolls and everything was delicious. Salmon skin roll was as perfect as I’ve had. Tender salmon skin, cooked but not over cooked and hard, good sized roll, and tasty sauce. Rice for all the rolls was also excellent, right temperature and cooked to the right “tenderness”. Fish was fresh, tasty and texture was great. Basically everything was good although I would pass on the fried calamari – meh and strips instead of the tubes and tentacles.

Absolutely love this place!! The sushi is fresh and on point. My favorites are the Aloha roll, Pink lady roll and the Caterpillar roll. Plus the ginger dress is the best I’ve ever had, I put the $h!t on everything!!

I’ve eaten here three times, 2 times delivery and 1 time dine in. All three times were exceptional. My last experience, dine-in, was the icing the cake! The food was a great temperature, service was fast and attentive, and restaurant was very clean. I ordered the baby doll sushi roll, since I absolutely loved the golden California from one of my deliveries, and of course that tasted very yummy too. My partner always gets the chicken fried rice and puts spicy mayo on top, of all the the (three) times he has ordered it, they all come out tasting amazing (consistency is important). This is definitely a place that feels very relaxed and laid back. I’m a Waraii Sushi customer for life!
