Did not expect to find such great sushi by my daughter’s music school, what a nice surprise! The Blufin hand rolls were amazing and wrapped with great technique. Fish is fresh, and they had a great selection of rolls, & ramens. The sushi rice was better than many of the places we have tried in San Diego. It had just that hint of vinegar to take it next level. Will be back for sure!

Management and service has gone down at this restaurant. I would NOT recommend coming here. I’ve been a loyal customer here and recently been treated with unprofessional service. My family and i usually come here and order 7+ rolls and ALWAYS tip generously. Recently ordering some take out at their restaurant, the owner refused to sell sauce for sushi rolls and kept saying no. Not being able to purchase sauce… for sushi rolls bought there.. that’s suppose to have sauce?? Pretty stingy. The fact she kept saying NO constantly and kept cutting us off was disrespectful and added in “you can’t make it yourself?” Who treats loyal paying customers like that?! It was so disrespectful and unprofessional

My family and I eat here all the time! Whether it be a birthday, or just a free Saturday, Waraii is the best choice. They always have such great service and the music is in great taste-never too loud. I recommend the crunch dragon and the spicy garlic edamame when you come! See you tomorrow!

Their fan favorite black garlic chasu ramen absolutely delicious! This place is the real deal. Not sure why we just discovered it?!? After 3 years here sushi rolls are expertly prepared. Authentic skills at the sushi bar! Service was friendly and communicative. One entree was delayed and they offered a side. We will be back.

I’ve eaten here three times, 2 times delivery and 1 time dine in. All three times were exceptional. My last experience, dine-in, was the icing the cake! The food was a great temperature, service was fast and attentive, and restaurant was very clean. I ordered the baby doll sushi roll, since I absolutely loved the golden California from one of my deliveries, and of course that tasted very yummy too. My partner always gets the chicken fried rice and puts spicy mayo on top, of all the the (three) times he has ordered it, they all come out tasting amazing (consistency is important). This is definitely a place that feels very relaxed and laid back. I’m a Waraii Sushi customer for life!

Ok. Granted I haven’t gone out to eat a lot since the pandemic, but this was some of the best sushi I have had in years. Ordered like six rolls and everything was delicious. Salmon skin roll was as perfect as I’ve had. Tender salmon skin, cooked but not over cooked and hard, good sized roll, and tasty sauce. Rice for all the rolls was also excellent, right temperature and cooked to the right “tenderness”. Fish was fresh, tasty and texture was great. Basically everything was good although I would pass on the fried calamari – meh and strips instead of the tubes and tentacles.
Going back for sure.
