Stopped by Wandering Joe’s after kayaking and was welcomed with a laid back and relaxing atmosphere on a perfect day with blue skies, clouds and sunshine. Joe is very nice and hospitable. We ordered the street tacos with chicken and pork loin club (both pictured) as well as the pulled chicken sandwich and queso and chips. The food is great and you could tell lots of care was put into it. The queso is extremely delicious, we even picked up some queso and chips to go on our way out! The jalapeño sauce was quite a delicious and fresh accompaniment to the food as well. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone in the area and I would come back if I was visiting Front Royal again!

Wandering Joe’s is a delightful eatery with delicious food. We were pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem when we went to visit Saga Meadery. The atmosphere is perfect for a casual gathering with friends. We enjoyed talking with Joe and sampling the various options. Try the queso – you’ll be happy you did. This was our first visit but will not be the last.

Found this hidden little food gem when we stopped by the meadery downtown. Wandering Joe’s is tucked away right behind Saga Meadery. Just wander back behind the meadery and grab some grub. Joe(the owner’s real name!) has several food items to choose from but I recommend you try them all(maybe not in one sitting) especially the homemade fresh queso which goes great with the Puff’s Sweet Heat mead! Definitely check out Wandering Joe’s, you won’t be disappointed!

Went in for some bread and walked out to find this delightful hidden gem. Had the queso along with the chopped beef sandwich. The queso I wish I could have had a gallon to turn it into is own meal. That is not using anything away from the chopped beef which was excellent as well with nice smoky notes punctuated with the crispiness of the pickles. Definitely plan on coming back

Best BBQ in town! A must stop for locals and tourists driving through. Their smoked meats are amazing and their queso is to die for!

This is some of the best smoked meat in town. The seasoning is subtle which allows the natural flavor of the meat and smoke to shine.
