Welcome to barbecuing and grilling in Hawaii. People often ask why we chose to spell Waikikie with the ‘e’ on the end. It’s simple… we needed a way to differentiate our name, while still paying tribute to one of the favorite Hawaiian Islands. Please come and enjoy our barbecue. Mahalo!

Colorful cafe serves grilled Hawaiian fare like BBQ & teriyaki, with lunch specials & live music.

The owners were very kind and answered all of our questions. They recommended my mother and I some absolutely delicious food. I got bbq beef and katsu chicken lunch special with spam musubi and my mother got *Kalula pork (please excuse if I spelled it wrong) which both came with rice and macaroni salad. We some Hawaiian Sun drinks, that were a perfect addition to the meal. I’m so excited to go back to try more things on the menu.

New comfort food alternative. Food was good for the price. The crab Rangoon was homemade instead of generic frozen ones. The service was really fast and owners are nice. Good option to try out the cuisine or quick bites.

Ordered waikikie Hawaiian bbq restaurant through Uber Eats and I was truly impressed! The food arrived warm, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The portion sizes were perfect, filling without being overwhelming. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful, and you could tell it was made with care. I’ll definitely be ordering again! Highly recommend if you’re craving something tasty and satisfying.

It’s certainly not the best Hawaiian BBQ I’ve had, but it’s probably the best I’ve had outside of the 9th island (Las Vegas) and it CERTAINLY beats L&L.

Curry is more soup than gravy, which I didn’t love, but the katsu is crispy, the bbq beef and Spam musubi were both delicious, and albeit the prices are a tad steep, the portions are pretty solid. Mac salad was good, too. Again, way better than L&L’s.

Overall, I was a bit underwhelmed with the food. The sides were good, but as you can see the meat was very soft, chewy, and soggy, sitting in liquid. I was expecting more of a traditional Hawaiian barbecue–style beef with char, crisp edges, and stronger flavor. Instead, it tasted more like beef that had simply been reheated.

This place is always absolutely amazing. From the owners being super nice to the best tasting Hawaiian food, this place is a gem. I’ve been coming here with my daughter since she was 5 or 6 years old, she’s turning 21 next month and we still come here!

The service was very friendly. But the food is terrible. I ordered spam masubi waaaay too much rice (mushy pasty rice at that) and spam was sliced thin and wasn’t pan fried at all. The kalua pork was flavorless I didn’t even try to eat more than a bit and cabbage was extremely soggy. The Mac salad was actually okay. I would recommend Maki Hawaiian Bbq over this place.

I got the mini Loco Moco and the plantains. I definitely wasn’t ready for such a big plate of plantains but they were so good. The Loco Moco was great. With the mini you get 1 scoop of rice and macaroni salad. That alone would have filled me up but I was hungry. The staff there was very personable and was telling dad jokes. I also got reminded of a show I needed to get back into while it was playing in the background. I do like that the staff also joked around with the food delivery people. I’m from out of state but the staff made it feel like a community. A little positivity can go a long way. Even my introverted self felt welcomed. I hope I have time to go back before my trip is over.

first time here and the guy at the register (sorry i didn’t get your name) was very helpful! So sweet as well had some dad jokes for me and friend. Food was really good, macaroni pasta isn’t my favorite thing but it was still good. Love the decor and the whole vibe of the place. Would definitely come back!
