Service was slow with an attitude. Food was absolutely disgusting!!!!! I ordered the tots plain and they were old tasting and not cooked properly. Tasted like they were microwaved. Also got chicken tenders. They were cold and not properly cooked either. My daughter took it back because if you waited for the “server” you would wait for a long time. Not apology was even offered for the bad food. The sushi was beautiful and my husband liked his food. We went to pay for the sushi and drinks and the “server” got an attitude with my daughter when she tried to explain why we sent the food back and instead of apologizing for the poor quality she asked if we thought she was “being aggressive” as a response!!!!! Why would that be your response we when someone has politely refused the horrible food??? Why not at least attempt to be remorseful and admit the food was not good? We gladly paid for what was acceptable. We waited 20 minutes after the sushi was finished for a dessert order that was placed at the time of our order. We could no longer wait and when we were paying downstairs the dessert came out. So obviously the “sever” did not inform the kitchen to cancel and said the the kitchen to give it to her friends at the bar!!!! This is one of the absolute worst places ever!!!! Save yourself the aggravation and disappointment and go elsewhere!!!!!!

I dined in with my mother and father on that evening of June 3rd at roughly 6:45 pm. I ordered 2 bagel rolls. They weren’t very good. Only a sliver of salmon in each roll. It just didn’t taste fresh. My mother ordered tots and chicken strips. You’d think that would be hard to mess up, but you would be so very wrong. The tots arrived at the table Luke warm and stale and the chicken strips were almost frozen in the middle. It was absolutely disgusting. I took the food back and asked the older woman running the place to please remove it from our ticket. I wasn’t rude or out of the way to her at all. She didn’t even ask what was wrong. She just had an attitude about it. I just brushed it off though. Then the rest of the food was ready to be brought to the table. She was in her feelings so much that she had the cook bring the food up. And as you could probably guess it was disgusting. But we tried to push through because we were hungry. Well we asked for refills and condiments. Waited almost 10 minutes to get that. So we ordered dessert when we ordered our entrees. The desserts never came after almost 15 minutes of being done with our garbage meal. So I told her that we were not going to have them as we had other plans to attend and didn’t have time to wait for ol girl to bring them. So this is where things got ugly. The older lady was clearly annoyed. She shouted to the people at the bar that they could just have the desserts since we didn’t want them. She was being so passive aggressive. So I’m getting the bill so I can pay and she slams it on the counter and shoved it towards me. I asked if she had a problem because clearly she did feel some type of way. The got so loud with me and my mother saying she wasn’t being aggressive. Which I never said she was being aggressive. She was absolutely being passive aggressive. I didn’t care to indulge her tantrum so I signed my receipt and left. I didn’t tip so I will check my bank statement to be sure she doesn’t commit fraud. I hope she gets to reads this. I’m not sure if she is the owner or just a worker bee. But either way you need to do better and next time keep your emotions in check because I felt so much second hand embarrassment for her and the way she was acting. I sure hope your friends enjoyed your pitiful show and the god awful food. I’m not sure if she was maybe on drugs or something and that’s why the service, food, and attitude was so terrible. If she isn’t the owner I sure hope they replace her because she will absolutely run that place even further in the ground than it already is. I feel fairly certain she over charged me as well. She probably needs the money more than I do though. So I hope it helped. Have a day

Not pleased with food, but service was HORRIBLE. I placed a to go order. Guy at the counter had an attitude from the start, had a 12 year old kid in the kitchen ? Waited 35 minutes for 2 simple rolls and a Poke bowl.

We had lunch here yesterday and it was very disappointing. We ordered a poke bowl, miso soup and boba tea for drinks. The poke bowl was okay. The miso soup was very salty. I told the guy behind the counter. He said he would take it back and see what they could do. Meanwhile, he said that’s how miso really tasted like around here. I told him it does not coz I’ve tried miso soup a lot of times before. So, we proceeded to order Boba Tea for our drinks. We received milk with the popping juices. When we asked why there was no tea or any of the tapioca balls, he said it would have taken 10-20 mins. To brew the tea, why would you sell something for 7.99 if it wasn’t the right thing?? Just tell the customer it’s not available. Another guy comes out and asks what he could do about it and we told him this should have had tapioca pearls and tea. He said that’s what they usually do and that he could make some for us. He came back out and gave us the tea with milk but the tapioca pearls were not cooked. I told him and he said that’s how it’s always been and they have not received any complaints. If you’ve tried boba tea with the tapioca pearls you would know. These people have no business selling asian food if they don’t even try to make it right. It’s very easy to just boil the tapioca pearls. It’s easy to have the correct ratio of the miso soup base and water. But, they didn’t even try. I received $20 back, even if the miso was $5.99 and 2 boba teas were $16. If you want asian food go to Taiko, Pok’s Art, Single Fin or Thai room.

We had a large group of 8 that came in and we had the place to ourselves. The owner greeted us kindly and explained all the specials. He made all the food sound good so we ordered tacos, sushi, and wings. All were very good! We had a long wait but they were very accommodating and brought us the wings as an appetizer. The food was worth the wait. We would happily go back!

I NEVER leave one star reviews on anything but this was beyond disappointing. First off when we got home we realized that a few of our items were missing …this was after we had to change our order twice after we were informed that they didn’t have several things on the menu . what we did end up with was just horrible …we ended up with 2 avocado rolls that looked like a 2 year old made them , the rice on the rolls were crunchy , the volcano rolls tasted like just grass & seasoning and the chicken fried rice was dry . Quality of fish was not fresh and did not have any flavor . Very overpriced for the quality & quantity you receive. Would not recommend. I eat sushi several times weekly & consider it a staple in my diet . I can ignore aesthetics but not the overall taste , quality and safety of ingredients .

Rating this straight on the sushi. We got 5 specialty rolls that in any other part of the world would be less expensive and taste certainly better. But the rolls taste good. Obviously need some quality control with the fish. Every single roll the fish has sat out for a while. Warm and mushy. This sucks because the flavors are there. If these rolls were done correctly they’d be on par with sushi you’d get at Uchi in Austin or NYC. But this is Roanoke island so I get it. The staff was closing up and still very nice and accommodating, so I can’t speak to the other reviews on negative service. We really wanted to like this place. It’s just not there and we won’t be back soon. Get on top of the quality game and the social media presence and this could be a cult style hidden gem. Good luck.
